In honor of the 35th anniversary of Ghostbusters' 1984 theatrical debut, Sony Music announces a special reissue of 'GHOSTBUSTERS (ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SCORE)' with music by legendary film composer ELMER BERNSTEIN (The Magnificent Seven, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Age of Innocence). Available now to preorder, the anniversary edition arrives in digital formats for the very first time (in both standard and hi resolutions) and on CD Friday, June 7 and on vinyl Friday, July 19. Dream-pop quartet Amycanbe has released their new EP, 'White Slide' (19th April) via Open Productions. Amycanbe have been creating and releasing music since 2002 on a regular basis. Their 2011 album, 'Mountain Whales' was mixed by Mark Plati (David Bowie, Prince, Robbie Williams, The Cure) who also features on their brand new EP. The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Foundation will honor Pegasus Transit and David Ralphe with this year's Pillar of the Arts Awards at the Spotlight Awards Ceremony during a dinner and auction event to be held Saturday, May 11 at the Wood Ranch Country Club. Peak Performances continues a season of iconoclastic works with the U.S. premiere of Romeo Castellucci's Democracy in America, freely inspired by the writing of Alexis de Tocqueville (May 9-12). In addition to performing masterworks from past centuries at major halls and with leading ensembles worldwide, pianist Kirill Gerstein has a deep interest in the music of our time, including that of composer Thomas Ad s, with whom he has formed a close artistic relationship and performs together twice next month at Carnegie Hall. On Wednesday, March 20 at 8:00 p.m., Mr. Gerstein gives the New York premiere of a new piano concerto composed for him by Mr. Ad s on commission from the Boston Symphony Orchestra, which performs the work under the baton of the composer, who is the BSO's Artistic Partner. The concerto is the second work on the program, which opens with Liszt's Mephisto Waltz No. 1 (orchestral version) and closes with Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4.
