According to The Hollywood Reporter, stage and screen star Mandy Patinkin has signed on to join Penelope Cruz in the upcoming Spanish-language film THE QUEEN OF SPAIN.

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Australian native Robert Stigwood, stage and film producer and Bee Gees manager, has passed away. He was 81.

Bugsy Malone re-opened the Lyric Hammersmith in April 2015 following a multi-million pound redevelopment and the creation of the Reuben Foundation Wing. It was the UK's first professional stage production of Bugsy Malone in over a decade.

New Line Theatre, "the bad boy of musical theatre," celebrates its 25th anniversary season of adult, alternative musical theatre, with a new, expanded line-up, a brand new theatre, and a very special thank-you to the St. Louis community -- '25 for 25.' The 69th Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 7th at 8/9c hosted by Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming. Deadline reports that Sony Pictures Animation's SMURFS reboot, directed by SHREK 2's Kelly Asbury, is getting a March 31, 2017 global release.

Performances begin tonight, Friday, March 20 and run through Sunday, April 12. Press night is scheduled for Opening Night Friday, March 27. Appropriate for ages 17 +. As a concert production, there will be no live nudity, though documentary photographs of the original production will be projected.
