Baryshnikov Arts Center presents the U.S. Premiere of choreographer Lucy Guerin's Split, a duet that revels in the sharp, elegant choreographic investigations by one of Australia's leading dance-makers. This presentation, Thursday through Saturday, October 11-13 at 7:30PM in the Jerome Robbins Theater (450 W. 37th Street, Manhattan), marks Guerin's return to BAC, following the premiere of Corridor in 2009; her last New York season was in 2012.

Anniversaries are times to reflect, to evaluate, but also to celebrate. Yesterday with its 60 Years of Musical Theatre: The Best of Maine State Music Theatre gala concert, the Brunswick theatre pulled out all the stops with a big, beautiful Diamond Jubilee gala that proved a stunning culmination to this milestone season. And indeed, six decades after Victoria Crandall launched her dream at the Pickard Theater on the Bowdoin College campus, MSMT can boast numerous reasons to celebrate its history, as well as its present accomplishments and future aspirations. In a matinee and evening stagings that featured musical performances by twenty-one soloists and an ensemble of ten, as well a number of spoken tributes, Artistic Director Curt Dale Clark architected a program that was classy, heartfelt, and rich and deep in the talent it showcased. As with any commemorative event, the program tapped into nostalgia and memory but blended these with a strong sense of the vigorous, energetic, imposing presence this company has become - not only in Midcoast Maine but also as a force in national regional theatre.

The world's greatest love story takes to the streets in the landmark Broadway musical, West Side Story at Barrington Stage. The show began August 3, with opening night set for August 8, for a run through September 1.

Daniel Schumann, Lee Dean and Cambridge Arts Theatre in association with Birmingham Repertory Theatre today announce John Stahl (Big Ger Cafferty) and Cathy Tyson (Siobhan Clarke) will join Charles Lawson (John Rebus) in Rebus: Long Shadows, a brand new Rebus story written exclusively for the stage by author of the original novels, Ian Rankin and playwright Rona Munro. The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced the selection of four Honorees who will receive the 2018 Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime artistic achievements, and a special Honors distinction for a work of art and its co-creators. Recipients to be honored at the 41st annual national celebration of the arts are: singer and actress Cher, composer and pianist Philip Glass, Country music entertainer Reba McEntire, and jazz saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter. This year, the co-creators of Hamilton-writer and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda, director Thomas Kail, choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler, and music director Alex Lacamoire-will receive a unique Kennedy Center Honors as trailblazing creators of a transformative work that defies category.

Park City Institute presents legendary singer and violinist, Lucia Micarelli, and award-winning cellist, Joshua Roman, on Sunday August 5th, at the 2018 St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights Concert Series. E! shows all you need is love, family and music with the series premiere of Ashlee+Evan beginning Sunday, September 9th at 10pm ET/PT. The six-episode series begins with an hour-long episode, followed by five half-hour episodes in the subsequent weeks. The cinematic docu-drama follows Ashlee Simpson-Ross and Evan Ross as they juggle their lives as soul mates, parents, musicians and artists. With the addition of their eclectic group of friends and famous family who fill their abode with laughter and love, there's never a dull moment in this young duo's household.

This fall, Cid Pearlman Performance will present the ALL JOAN SHOW, a retrospective of dances made in collaboration with renowned San Francisco-based cellist and composer, Joan Jeanrenaud. The All Joan Show runs September 21 to 22 at the Joe Goode Annex in San Francisco before moving to Santa Cruz for a three-evening engagement at Motion Pacific, October 19 to 21.

The Center for Ballet and the Arts at NYU (CBA), the first-ever international institute for scholars and artists of ballet and its related arts and sciences, today announces the launch of its Artistic Partnership Initiative (API). API is a joint initiative between The Center and major professional dance companies around the world to advance the art of choreography. The API Fellowship will give artists selected by the companies the full resources of The Center and NYU for a three to four-week residency to develop new work. Nominees are artists with notable choreographic potential.

Following on from the successful tour in 2017, Lee Dean and Daniel Schumann are extending the UK Tour of Tom Kempinski's award-winning play DUET FOR ONE, directed by Robin Lefevre, with Belinda Lang reprising her acclaimed performance as Stephanie Abrahams and joined on this tour by Jonathan Coy as Dr Feldmann. The tour will begin at Oxford Playhouse on Tuesday 28 August 2018.

The Recording Academy will honor its 2018 Special Merit Awards recipients with 'GRAMMY Salute To Music Legends®,' an awards ceremony and live tribute concert on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. This year's Lifetime Achievement Award honorees are Hal Blaine, Neil Diamond, Emmylou Harris, Louis Jordan, the Meters, Queen, and Tina Turner. Additional Special Merit Awards honorees to be celebrated include Bill Graham, Seymour Stein, and John Williams, who are this year's Trustees Award honorees, and Tony Agnello and Richard Factor, who are the Technical GRAMMY Award recipients. Also being honored is Melissa Salguero, this year's recipient of the Music Educator Award. Led by GRAMMY®-nominated industry icon Greg Phillinganes as musical director, the tribute concert will feature rare performances by honorees and never-seen renditions by those they've inspired. Currently scheduled to appear are eight-time GRAMMY winner Herb Alpert, who will honor Blaine; past GRAMMY nominee Micky Dolenz, who will be honoring Diamond; GRAMMY winner Sammy Hagar, who will pay tribute to Graham; 13-time GRAMMY winner and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Harris; past GRAMMY nominee Ledisi, who will salute Jordan; and three-time GRAMMY winner Trisha Yearwood, who will pay tribute to Harris. The Ford Theatres presents Lula Washington Dance Theatre (LWDT) today, June 8 at 8:30pm, as part of its IGNITE @ the FORD! series. For this joyous evening of dance, the Ford Theatres has brought together three renowned choreographers - Kyle Abraham, Rennie Harris and David Rousseve - to set works on one of Los Angeles's most beloved contemporary dance companies, LWDT, alongside pieces by the esteemed Lula Washington and Tamica Washington-Miller. The concert premiers 'Intersections,' a 35 minute sextet, and presents a 33 minute reconstruction of Vencl's 2016 meditation on randomness and unpredictability, 'Long Before Afterward.'
