92Y's Harkness Dance Festival celebrates its 25th season celebrating Merce Cunningham's centennial. For five weekends from March 1-30, HDF presents performances of Merce's own choreography for Cross Currents, Doubles, Landrover, Loose Time, Scenario and Septet, danced by New York Theatre Ballet, Melissa Toogood, Calvin Royal III and New World School of the Arts. The Festival continues with four weekends of world premieres representing four generations of Cunningham dancers who established companies of their own - Douglas Dunn, Dylan Crossman, Jonah Bokaer and Ellen Cornfield.

Jacob's Pillow announces the full season lineup of Festival 2019 including world premieres, new commissions, international artists, anniversary celebrations, Pillow-exclusive engagements, and work developed at the Pillow Lab. Entering its 87th consecutive summer, Jacob's Pillow is home to the longest-running dance festival in the United States, a National Historic Landmark, a National Medal of Arts recipient, and has steadily expanded its reach in the field and its local community as a year-round center for dance research and development. Festival 2019 opens June 19, attracting audiences both on and off its site in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, through August 25.

Tenor Javier Camarena--who completes his run as Nadir, the love-struck tenor lead in Bizet's LES PECHEURS DE PERLES (THE PEARL FISHERS) this Saturday--isn't finished wow-ing Met audiences for the season. Not by a long shot. Jack Ferver's critically acclaimed Everything Is Imaginable returns to New York Live Arts' mainstage as the finale to the 2019 Live Arteryplatform during the annual Association of Performing Arts Professionals conference, January 7, 2019 at 10pm and January 8-12 at 8pm. Presented in collaboration withAmerican Realness, Ferver's radiant and evocative dance-theater piece juxtaposes the lives, virtuosity, and fantasies of its five queer performers.

Owen Lake and the Tragic Loves' “electro-country” sound is both freshly nostalgic and startlingly unique. Hard-driving synthesizer licks meet tight three-part vocal harmonies, buttery bloops and bleeps, crying pedal steel, and pounding electronic beats in the band's first full-length record, “The Best of Your Lies.” 

Mental illness is not your usual subject matter for a musical.  Although it is not a light, toe-tapping kind of musical, NEXT TO NORMAL by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey however, manages to be an entertaining and thought provoking evening of theatre.  It offers a peak into the lives of one family and their struggles and fears related to the mental illness of their matriarch and the damage left behind.

dick clark productions and ABC today announced “2018 American Music Awards” performances from 10-time American Music Award-winning icon, Mariah Carey, as well as a collaboration from award-winning record producer and songwriter, benny blanco with multiplatinum artist Halsey and global superstar Khalid, who is up for four AMAs this year. These artists join previously announced performers Post Malone featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Carrie Underwood. Hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross, the “2018 American Music Awards,” the world's largest fan-voted awards show, will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 8:00 p.m. EDT, on ABC.

Cathy Weis Projects announces the fall 2018 season of Sundays on Broadway, an ongoing series of performances, film screenings, readings, and discussions on Sunday evenings at WeisAcres. The fall season is curated by Cathy Weis and guest curators Jon Kinzel, Jennifer Miller, Mina Nishimura, and Vicky Shick. All events begin at 6pm. $10 suggested donation at the door. Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) today announced a new initiative, a three-week, multi-disciplinary Bach Festival featuring 15 concerts across three venues in Manhattan, June 6-22, 2019. The programmatic centerpieces include performances by Paul Taylor Dance Company and the Goldberg Variations, which receives two interpretations - including the U.S. premiere of Bernard Labadie's orchestral setting - and provides the Festival theme: 'Transformation.'

On Friday, September 28, 2018, Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Du Yun releases her latest collaboration with the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), Dinosaur Scar, on TUNDRA via New Focus Recordings. With Du Yun's signature chameleonic presence, the album revisits foundational works that showcase their ever-evolving partnership. Du Yun is the 2017 recipient of the Pulitzer Prize in Music for her opera Angel's Bone.

Baryshnikov Arts Center presents the U.S. Premiere of choreographer Lucy Guerin's Split, a duet that revels in the sharp, elegant choreographic investigations by one of Australia's leading dance-makers. This presentation, Thursday through Saturday, October 11-13 at 7:30PM in the Jerome Robbins Theater (450 W. 37th Street, Manhattan), marks Guerin's return to BAC, following the premiere of Corridor in 2009; her last New York season was in 2012.

Anniversaries are times to reflect, to evaluate, but also to celebrate. Yesterday with its 60 Years of Musical Theatre: The Best of Maine State Music Theatre gala concert, the Brunswick theatre pulled out all the stops with a big, beautiful Diamond Jubilee gala that proved a stunning culmination to this milestone season. And indeed, six decades after Victoria Crandall launched her dream at the Pickard Theater on the Bowdoin College campus, MSMT can boast numerous reasons to celebrate its history, as well as its present accomplishments and future aspirations. In a matinee and evening stagings that featured musical performances by twenty-one soloists and an ensemble of ten, as well a number of spoken tributes, Artistic Director Curt Dale Clark architected a program that was classy, heartfelt, and rich and deep in the talent it showcased. As with any commemorative event, the program tapped into nostalgia and memory but blended these with a strong sense of the vigorous, energetic, imposing presence this company has become - not only in Midcoast Maine but also as a force in national regional theatre.

The world's greatest love story takes to the streets in the landmark Broadway musical, West Side Story at Barrington Stage. The show began August 3, with opening night set for August 8, for a run through September 1.
