BroadwayWorld Book Club is officially off and running! Or should we say, reading! The first BroadwayWorld Book Club selection is Jennifer Ashley Tepper's The Untold Stories of Broadway Volume 1. Tepper has just released the first volume of the book for free on Kindle!

Michael Weber, artistic director of Porchlight Music Theatre, has announced Porchlight Music Theatre's 2017 - 2018 mainstage season.

Whoooooooa, this is it! All of the voters have voted, the competitive dances have been danced, the, 'Shut your face's have been shut your faced; tonight was SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE's 11th season finale. And though, as in the last two years, we had four dancers still standing at the beginning of the night, for the first time since 2011, there was only one winner announced. Gone are the days of not having to choose between our favorite male and female dancers; this time, only one gets to take home the title of 'America's Favorite Dancer.'

With two acclaimed shows of the 2013-14 season in the books, American Repertory Theater of WNY sets sights on the 'Second Half' of the season. Going on the sixth-year of revelry, the American Repertory Theater of WNY is celebrating the end of Carnival season as ART/WNY invites all to 'Laissez les bon temp roulle' at the Mardi Gras Celebration on Fat Tuesday, February 12th, 7:00 pm to Midnight, Bittner Hall located on 16 Linwood Avenue, Buffalo NY (located in the Church of the Ascension).

I suppose there's nothing unusual about a little kid waking up one morning to see a group of her parents' friends socializing around the family piano.  It's just that when you're young Loni Ackerman, those friends include Mayor John Lindsay, Ted Kennedy, Ralph Nader, several members of the Black Panthers and, playing the piano, football star Rosie Greer.

RETURN, a new musical about the secret rescue of 8,000 Ethiopian Jews will premiere at Edgemar Center for the Arts in Santa Monica on June 5th and run through July 20th. The book and lyrics are by Sonia Levitin, with music by William Kevin Anderson and direction and choreography by Donald McKayle.
