The 27th Annual Balcones Heights Jazz Festival has announced the addition of a simmering summer jazz concert on July 16 from 7:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. to its year-long concert series.

Pride Arts today announced a new slate of four plays for a spring of one-night only live virtual readings. The first is a reading of SPEECH AND DEBATE, by the Tony Award- winning playwright Stephen Karam.

The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. I will be determining their signs based upon their Broadway premiere date. With those rules in mind, here we go!

Pitlochry Festival Theatre has announced that this Summer it will reopen with an exciting season of outdoor performances. Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional Theatre in Residence at the Oakes Center in Summit, is offering a virtual improv class this spring for adults and teens aged 18 and up. The class will be held Monday  evenings from 7:30-9:30 for eight weeks starting April 5 and ending May 24. The cost is $280.

Miranda Priestly stans will have to wait a bit longer to catch her on stage. Broadway In Chicago just announced today that the upcoming pre-Broadway World Premiere of THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, originally scheduled to run July 13 - August 15, 2021, at the CIBC Theatre, will now run July 19, 2022 – August 21, 2022, at the James M. Nederlander Theatre.

The American Cinematheque announced the line-up of stage and screen stars who will pay tribute to Spike Lee as he receives the 34th American Cinematheque Award in a virtual ceremony on Thursday, January 14.  Colleagues and collaborators including Angela Bassett, Ryan Coogler, Jodie Foster, Rosie Perez, and ‘Da 5 Bloods’.
