BWW Review: Three Decades Later, M. BUTTERFLY Still Beguiles, Shocks

The press preview of David Henry Hwang's award-winning play 'M. Butterfly,' produced by Broadway producer Jhett Tolentino and Frontrow Entertainment, at the Maybank Performing Arts Theater proved to be far stronger than the force of nature, fluttering nonchalantly despite looming news of a super typhoon. As if on cue, Typhoon Mangkhut was a no-show when the local press trooped to the Bonifacio Global City Arts Center to witness with excitement the return of this classic, 28 years after an 18-year-old RS Francisco won the hearts of critics and audiences alike in Dulaang UP's 1990 local premiere.

Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) today announced a new initiative, a three-week, multi-disciplinary Bach Festival featuring 15 concerts across three venues in Manhattan, June 6-22, 2019. The programmatic centerpieces include performances by Paul Taylor Dance Company and the Goldberg Variations, which receives two interpretations - including the U.S. premiere of Bernard Labadie's orchestral setting - and provides the Festival theme: 'Transformation.'

Steve Barton Makes Rare Live Solo Appearance for 'Wesley Stace's Cabinet of Wonders'

Whether it's pure pop or moody acoustic ballads, singer/songwriter/guitarist, Steve Barton, has developed a reputation for crafting some of the most literate and poignant music in underground rock.  In addition to being a founding member of the revered punk/psychedelic band Translator, perhaps best known for the Barton-penned song 'Everywhere That I'm Not', he has released several solo albums - 'The Boy Who Rode His Bike Around The World', 'Charm Offensive', 'Flicker Of Time', 'Gallery', 'Projector' and the one-off duo album with Translator's drummer Dave Scheff, 'New Blue World'.  The seventh and latest, 'Tall Tales and Alibis', is a sprawling triple album tour de force filled with Steve's brand new songs, which was released in March by Sleepless Music.

Nickelodeon, in partnership with Red Tail Productions, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Red Tail Entertainment, and CB Entertainment, announced today Nickelodeon's Double Dare Live, the multi-city live stage tour inspired by the iconic TV game show Double Dare.  Double Dare Live will play at NJPAC in Newark, N.J. on Thursday, November 15, at 7:30 p.m. featuring original host Marc Summers and his beloved sidekick Robin Russo, the live stage show. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, August 24 at 10:00 a.m.

Nickelodeon, in partnership with Red Tail Productions, LLC announced today Nickelodeon's Double Dare Live, the multi-city live stage tour inspired by the iconic TV game show Double Dare.  Double Dare Live will play Playhouse Square's KeyBank State Theatre on November 11.  Featuring original host Marc Summers and his beloved sidekick Robin Russo, the live stage show will debut in Fayetteville, NC, on October 30 and will tour North America through November.

In celebration of their 40th Anniversary, JOHN LYDON's PUBLIC IMAGE LTD (PiL) have announcedTHE PUBLIC IMAGE IS ROTTEN: NORTH AMERICAN TOUR, will kick off in New Orleans on Tuesday, October 9 (see below for all dates). Tickets go on-sale starting Friday, July 13 at 10:00AM local time. Further PUBLIC IMAGE LTD activity includes the release of THE PUBLIC IMAGE IS ROTTEN acareer–spanning box set (out July 20) and a new documentary film of the same name, the latter of which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York and at London's Raindance Festival. Directed byTabbert Fiiller and released by Abramorama, the film will make its North American theatrical premiere on Friday, September 14 in New York City at Metrograph with more theatrical dates in October-November to coincide with PiL's North American fall tour.
