Based on the 1956 British musical Chrysanthemum, the successful film version of Thoroughly Modern Millie in 1967, starring Julie Andrews, Mary Tyler Moore, Carol Channing and Beatrice Lilly, sparked a bit of a cult following that paved the way for a Tony Award winning stage version in 2002.

"The Bridges of Madison County" captured the nation's attention in 1992 as a best-selling novel, then again in 1995 as a major motion picture.  It is a compelling, two-time Tony Award-winning musical now on stage at Peninsula Players through August 13.  "The Bridges of Madison County" is the touching story of Francesca, a lovely Italian woman who married an American soldier to flee war-ravaged Italy. She is looking forward to a rare four days alone on her Iowa farm as her family heads to the 1965 Indiana State Fair when ruggedly handsome, National Geographic photographer Robert Kincaid pulls into her driveway seeking directions. What happens in those next four days may very well alter the course of Francesca's life.

The Philharmonic Society of Orange County and Segerstrom Center for the Arts will co-present Tod Browning's 1931 film classic DRACULA starring Bela Lugosi with original music by Philip Glass performed live by the legendary composer at the piano, the Grammy Award-winning Kronos Quartet, with Michael Riesman directing from the keyboard.

Bob Ost & Wildly Productive Productions and Xoregos Performing Company, with generous support by Granite Hills Press and The Confucius Institute of San Diego University, are thrilled to announce that Romance of the Western Chamber, a musical adaptation (in English) of the fabled Chinese classic Xi Xiang Ji, will make its U.S. Premiere this fall. The production will play a strictly limited engagement of 14 performances, beginning Thursday, September 14 at TADA! Theater (located at 15 W. 28th Street, 3rd Floor), with opening night scheduled for Saturday, September 16, 2017. Performances will take place according to the following schedule: Thursdays & Friday at 8:00pm; Saturdays at 2pm & 8pm; and Sundays at 3pm.

The Cote Saint-Luc Dramatic Society is heading back to the Segal Centre with a production of Fancy Nancy The Musical with book and lyrics by Susan DiLallo and music and lyrics by Danny Abosch. Based on the best-selling children's book of the same name, Fancy Nancy The Musical had an acclaimed Off-Broadway run from 2012-2014, and is currently touring the United States. The Montreal premiere will be playing on the Segal Mainstage from February 26 to March 5, 2017 and is perfect for girls and boys as young as three years old.
