The Cleveland Orchestra and Music Director Franz Welser-Most have announced details of the Orchestra's 2017-18 calendar.  The season will be the ensemble's 100th year of concerts and marks the launch of its Second Century.  2017-18 is also the 16th year of the Orchestra's acclaimed partnership with Franz Welser-Most. 

Mindy Sterling, famous for her role as Frau Farbissina in the 'Austin Powers' films and Ellia English, best known as Auntie Rae on Larry David's HBO series, 'Curb Your Enthusiasm,' will be appearing in 'YES, VIRGINIA,' a new play by Stan Zimmerman & Christian McLaughlin.

Today we wish a happy birthday to one of the kings of comedy and a star of stage and screen, Billy Crystal, who turns 69 today.  

MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) is pleased to announce that its upcoming American Premiere of the play The End of Longing-written by and starring iconic "Friends" star Matthew Perry in his NYC playwriting and stage acting debuts-is now on sale at www.mcchteater.org.  The End of Longing, directed by Lindsay Posner, begins performances onMay 18, 2017 ahead of a June 5 opening night at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street). 

Primary Stages has announced its complete 2017/18 Season, which will kick off in Fall 2017 with THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO THOMAS JEFFERSON, CHARLES DICKENS AND COUNT LEO TOLSTOY: DISCORD, written by Scott Carter ('Real Time with Bill Maher') and directed by Kimberly Senior (Disgraced).

MCC Theater announced today complete casting for its one-night-only benefit reading of Neil LaBute's play, Fat Pig, directed by LaBute, to be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 7PM at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street).

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces four Rolling World Premieres: Halftime with Don by Ken Weitzman, Doublewide by Stephen Spotswood, The Arsonists by Jacqueline Goldfinger, and Building the Wall by Robert Schenkkan. The four plays will receive a total of 15 NNPN RWP productions, with each play seeing at least three distinct productions in a discrete 12-month period.

Griffin Theatre Company will continue its 2016-17 Season, an exploration of the American Dream, with the world premiere of IN TO AMERICA, a 400-year journey through the immigrant experience, written by Artistic Director Bill Massolia (Letters Home) and directed by Dorothy Milne.

Nat King Cole broke the pop barrier in 1943 when his "Straighten Up and Fly Right" soared up the charts. His smooth, smoky vocals continued to rack up pop hit after hit, but his piano technique, vocal phrasings, and on-the-mark orchestration always hinted to his early roots in jazz.

MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey and William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) just announced the all-star lineup of performers set for their annual Miscast gala, celebrating the 30th Anniversary of MCC Theater. 

MCC Theater has extended its critically acclaimed production of Anna Jordan's YEN through March 4, 2017. It was previously scheduled through February 19, 2017.

The nominations for the 8th Annual Indie Series Awards were revealed on Wednesday, February 1. The ISAs celebrate the best in independently produced scripted entertainment created for the Web. Nominations were announced in 29 categories.

At a reception during the 2017 Sundance Film Festival today, the beneficiaries of $60,000 in grants from Sundance Institute and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation were revealed. Doron Weber, the Vice President of Programs at the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, announced the winners: Michael Almereyda's Marjorie Prime won the Feature Film Prize; Adam Benic's Levittown (Sundance Institute | Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Episodic Storytelling Grant); Darcy Brislin and Dyana Winkler's Bell (Sundance Institute | Sloan Lab Fellowship); and Jamie Dawson and Howard Gertler's Untitled Smallpox Eradication Project (Sundance Institute | Sloan Commissioning Grant).

Katori Hall's Olivier Award-winning play, The Mountaintop, kicks off 2017 at Trinity Repertory Company and continues the 53rd season, Ghosts of the Past, Dreams of the Future.

Ari Graynor, Stefania LaVie Owen and Justice Smith join Lucas Hedges in the American premiere of Yen, Anna Jordan's Bruntwood Prize-winning play, directed by MCC alum Trip Pullman at MCC Theater. 

Back by popular demand for a third season, the McCallum Theatre presents Palm Springs Legends III and the Legends Orchestra on Sunday, January 15, at 3:00pm. The top tribute artists honor the iconic stars who lived, and spent time, in the Palm Springs area - the legendary stars that made Palm Springs the place to be!

Black Theatre Troupe takes an intimate and moving look at the struggle to break the trappings of poverty in BROKE-OLOGY, the acclaimed play from Nathan Louis Jackson on February 10 - 26, 2017 at the Helen K. Mason Performing Arts Center, 1333 E. Washington St. Phoenix, AZ 85034.  

Dubbed "Essential Ringwald", the 10th season will highlight the kind of shows The Ringwald has come to be known for in its 10 year history. The third show of the season is the Michigan premiere of The Legend of Georgia McBride by Matthew Lopez.
