“Dancing with the Stars” is waltzing its way into its upcoming season, and the new celebrity cast is adding some glitzy bling to their wardrobe, breaking in their dancing shoes and readying themselves for their first dance on the ballroom floor, as the season kicks off MONDAY, SEPT. 24 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand. This season's lineup of celebrity dancers includes an “American Idol” mentor, the first-ever blind contestant to take part in the show, an alumnus from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a Duke of Hazzard, an Olympic Gold medal-winning gymnast and a Bachelor Nation favorite, among others.

Today, Multi-instrumentalist and composer Theodore premiered his third single 'Disorientation' and announced the release date for his cascading LP Inner Dynamics on NPR's All Songs Considered. Where his previous album It Is But It's Not attempted to explore the interaction of opposing elements in the universe, Inner Dynamics finds Theodore looking inward to examine the dualities of his own identity in search of new creative potential. The album 'Disorientation” begins with mystifying whispers, and a pulsating bass until Theodore's heavy-hearted voice brings in dream-induced dramatism. Inner Dynamics features production by Vagelis Moschos and is set to be released on November 2. 

Tonight marks the launch of the 8-part mini-series on PBS revolving around The Great American Read. PBS launched its first episode this past spring and has been calling for readers to vote for their favorite book all summer long. Viewers can tune in tonight or stream the series online on PBS.org. City Opera Vancouver presents the astonishing and macabre operatic thriller, Nigredo Hotel, on September 20 - 22, 2018 at 8pm at The Cultch Historic Theatre. This one-act chamber opera directed by Alan Corbishley, with music by Nic Gotham and libretto by distinguished Canadian author and playwright Ann-Marie MacDonald, tells the tale of an encounter between a beautiful but crazed hotelier and a brain surgeon who seeks refuge after a traumatic car accident. Internationally renowned opera stars Tyler Duncan and Sarah Vardy will perform a brilliant Jungian-inspired combat between two of the most unusual characters in 20th century opera, backed by a four-player jazz combo.

One of the highlights of the KeyBank Rochester Fringe Festival (Wednesday, Sept. 12 - Saturday, Sept. 22) is sure to be its free, outdoor performances of Massaoke at Parcel 5 for Friday & Saturday on the Fringe, September 14 & 15.

Broad Views on Broadway's 2nd Annual Summer Fresh Festival is set to present the world premiere staged reading of Erik Ransom's "Civil Blood (The Resurrection of Romeo)" which serves as a fantastical, tragicomic sequel to William Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet".

Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen's Entertainment Studios, has acquired the domestic rights to DANGER ONE, a dark comedy/action film directed by Tom Oesch and written by Steffen Schlachtenhaufen. DANGER ONE was produced by Mythmaker Productions (which also produced the slasher thriller Reaper and the hit real estate satire Pocket Listing) and Silvatar Media (which also produced the horror thriller The Pyramid and the spine-tingler Removal). Producers include Dwjuan Fox, Naji Jurdi, Mark James, James Jurdi, Bradley A. Jabour, Michael S. Klein, Victor Najjarian, Saud Shawwaf, Chady Eli Mattar, Scott C. Silver, and David Willing. The film, which stars Tom Everett Scott, James Jurdi, Angelica Celaya, Damon Dayoub, and Denis O'Hare, will hit select theaters nationwide on September 143th, 2018.

REDCAT, CalArts' downtown center for contemporary arts, announces adventurous international and LA performances featured in the ambitious new Fall 2018 season at REDCAT, including stunning stagecraft and object theater from Rotterdam, the world premiere of a new dance and video work by LA company David Rousseve/Reality, a slyly funny and poignant collaboration by German/British collective Gob Squad with six LA performers, a hilarious political musical-theater project by art collective My Barbarian, and the return of Christiane Jatahy with a Brazilian take on Chekhov's Three Sisters, which uses genius film techniques.

The Consortium of Asian American Theaters & Artists (CAATA), dedicated to advancing the field of Asian American theater, announces Chicago as the host city for the Sixth National Asian American Theater Conference and Festival (ConFest), to be held August 13 - 18. ConFest Early Bird passes start at $350 and are available at CAATA.net beginning Wednesday, May 16 at 10 a.m.

THE VIEW UPSTAIRS, a musical by Max Vernon, whose musical KPOP won Best Musical honors in off-Broadway's Lortel Awards and was also nominated for seven Drama Desk awards, is inspired by real life events of the 1973 arson attack at the UpStairs Lounge, a vibrant gay bar in New Orleans. Now accepted as a targeted anti-gay attack, the arson resulted in the deaths of 32 people and was, until the 2016 Orlando Pulse Nightclub shooting, the deadliest assault on a gay club in U.S. history. The show is inspired by and pays tributes to many of the patrons that frequented the venue.

In this radical re-imagining at JACK, two multi-disciplinary artists play the combative titular couple and head up the design team. Joined by an ensemble of some of Brooklyn's sharpest comedic voices, Gordon Landenberger (Bruce) and trans actress Theda Hammel (Marie) double as the set and sound designers, respectively, for this hilarious and timely new production.
