In 1983, Simon Parkes bought a derelict Brixton cinema for £1. He called it The Academy. Ten years later, he had transformed it into one of the world’s most iconic music venues – and changed British music forever.
Inspired by Parkes’ anarchic memoir ‘Live at the Brixton Academy’, multi-award winning Brixton Calling returns after a sell-out hit run at Southwark Playhouse Borough. Bigger, bolder and more electric than ever.
