The Rubell Museum today announced that its new campus will open on December 4, 2019 with a museum-wide installation of works that chronicle key artists, moments, and movements in vital arts centers over the past 50 years, from the East Village to Beijing, Los Angeles to Leipzig, and São Paulo to Tokyo

Deadline reports that 'Barry' star Stephen Root has joined upcoming drama 'Four Good Days,' from director Rodrigo Garcia. Glenn Close and Mila Kunis also star. Garcia co-wrote the script with Pulitzer Prize winner Eli Saslow.

USA Network has set the cast and director for the pilot MASTERS OF DOOM. The pilot will star Eduardo Franco ('Booksmart'), Patrick Gibson ('The OA'), John Karna ('Valley of the Boom'), Jane Ackermann ('Neptune') and Siobhan Williams ('Deadly Class'). Peter Friedman ('Succession') will recur as a guest star.

Bristol Riverside Theatre announces that Founding Director Susan D. Atkinson and Artistic Director Keith Baker will be stepping down from their day-to-day roles at the end of the 2019-2020 season. Atkinson is credited with helping to rejuvenate Bristol Borough during her 33 years of service. She led the way in turning an old adult movie theatre into a professional theatre company that has produced five world class productions a year for the past 33 years. Baker steps down after 28 years of service to the theatre. He wore many different hats at BRT, directing, singing and acting in over 120 plays and musicals, and steering its artistic vision. The duo will step down from their roles at the conclusion of the current season. The BRT Board of Directors has launched an extensive search for a new artistic director. Later in the season, look for news of a special event that will honor Atkinson and Baker's service to the organization and the community. 

Shondaland and Netflix today announced Notes on Love, a new original episodic anthology series under Shonda Rhimes' overall deal.

The Discovery Orchestra (the Orchestra) ushered in its 33rd season this past Sunday with Discover The Firebird, an interactive concert taped at the Delbarton School in Morristown, New Jersey, for future national broadcast. Over 500 audience members from communities in the Tri-State area were treated to a thrilling performance of movements from Igor Stravinsky's Firebird Suite and simultaneously guided through listening exercises to sharpen their emotional connections to this work. Discover The Firebird is the Orchestra's fifth public television program, marking a historic moment for the local New Jersey nonprofit. The concert will be nationally distributed by American Public Television beginning in the spring of 2020.

For the first time Arts Centre Melbourne will present a new festival celebrating ideas and performance made by and with young people aged 13 a?' 30. Future Echoes, a four day festival from 23-26 October 2019, will feature new work by leading youth arts organisations and emerging artists from across Victoria. In the festival's pilot year, young creatives will challenge ways of thinking with provocations and postcards from the future, and invite audiences into their processes.

In celebration of its 40th Anniversary Filmfest, Aspen Film will present its first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in the Cinematic Arts to Bob Rafelson – renegade and ground-breaking director, producer, and writer whose career spans four decades. Rafelson was the first recipient of Aspen Film's Independent by Nature award in 1999 so it is only fitting that 20 years later he will be honored again, looking back at his incredible career. The renaming of the theatre was dedicated to Stephen Sondheim, the greatest and best known artist in American musical theatre on his 80th birthday. 

The Smithsonian's National Museum of American History will present its Great Americans medal to composer, musician and philanthropist Paul Simon Sept. 18. The presentation of the medal is part of the 'Great Americans Award Program,' the museum's emergent and signature honor. Simon will be the sixth honoree and the first musician to receive the award.

BroadwayWorld has learned that real-life married couple Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker will come to Broadway in Neil Simon's Plaza Suite following an out of town run at Boston's Colonial Theatre - where the 1968 production also originated, before a 17 week run on Broadway at the Hudson Theatre with previews set to being in March. The production will be directed by John Benjamin Hickey.
