Mesa Arts Center today announced its 2014-2015 Performing Live Season, which begins with Lyle Lovett & His Large Band on July 24, and includes performances with Tony Bennett, MythBusters, Bill Cosby, Joshua Bell, Evil Dead the Musical, Molly Ringwald, and many more. The shows unveiled today are in addition to the six series packages announced on May 1, including Broadway on Center, Classical, Dance, Jazz, National Geographic Live, and Spoken World.

Violinist Nicola Benedetti will make her New York Philharmonic subscription debut - replacing Janine Jansen, who has been advised by her doctor not to play for at least a week - in performances of Szymanowski's Violin Concerto No. 1. Vladimir Jurowski will make his Philharmonic debut conducting the concerts, tonight, May 21, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, May 23 at 2:00 p.m.; and Saturday, May 24 at 8:00 p.m. The program will conclude with selections from Prokofiev's Cinderella.

On May 31, June 1, and 2, Lyrics & Lyricists pays tribute to musical theater's most thoroughly panned musical bullion as artistic director and Tony Award-winning lyricist and director David Zippel closes the season with Panning for Gold: Great Songs from Flop Shows. Vocalists Brent Barrett, Christiane Noll, Lorna Luft, Jessica Lea Patty, Lillias White and Tony Yazbeck sing numbers like "All the Things You Are," "They Don't Make 'Em Like That Anymore," "As Time Goes By" and "He Touched Me" that - despite their origins in such failures as Very Warm for May, How Now Dow Jones, Everybody's Welcome and Drat The Cat!, respectively - have become American Songbook standards.

Rose and Joan Stein, is a play featuring a culturally and gender diverse series of candid monologues on the subject of motherhood, written by a host of celebrated writers. Motherhood Out Loud traverses the experience of motherhood from inception, birth, sexuality, growing up, letting go and the sandwich generation. The show has had successful productions all over the country, including an off-Broadway run at Primary Stages in New York City.

STC Artistic Director Michael Kahn will direct both parts of this sweeping epic - one of Shakespeare's culminating achievements in the history play genre - over multiple nights. As Kahn says, describing Parts 1 and 2 as his favorite Shakespearean drama: 'It brings to the stage every issue we as human beings experience.'
