A handful of intrepid solo performers are presenting live, outdoor pop up performances of their acclaimed solo shows this Fall. These intimate storytelling events are presented using the LiveTours app and performed for an audience of 14 or less.

Stage actor Edward Gero has made a name for himself in the DC theatre scene, appearing in plays by Shakespeare, Chekhov, and everyone in between. In 2015, Gero played Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonin Scalia in John Strand's The Originalist at Arena Stage. He shares how his experiences on stage led him to meet the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and how she left a lasting impression.

Jason O'Neill was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He became passionate about Irish dancing, Irish culture and music as a young boy and seeing RIVERDANCE changed his life. It became his goal to become a professional Irish dancer and perform in RIVERDANCE, which he has now done for 10 years. I had the chance to speak with O'Neill prior to his arrival in Montreal where the RIVERDANCE 25th ANNIVERSARY tour will play a limited engagement at Salle Wilfred-Pelletier, Place des Arts, January 10-12, 2020.

Hello Des Moines! It's time to put on your Sunday clothes because Hello, Dolly!' is here for one week only at the Civic Center as part of the Des Moines Performing Arts and Willis Broadway Series. If you don't have tickets yet to this show, get one before 'Hello, Dolly!' leaves Des Moines. This production does a beautiful job of paying homage to the original production yet finding ways to make it their own.

A real curious thing is happening at Theater 80 St Marks. And, oddly, it may be the off-beat, quirky must-see Off-Broadway event of the winter. Not because the show is amazing, nor because it is so terrible that it has to be seen to be believed. Truthfully, Preston Max Allen's WE ARE THE TIGERS makes you forgive its missteps by being infectiously plucky and actually fun.
