The global smash hit musical MAMMA MIA! at London's Novello Theatre is now extending its booking period from Monday 4 March to Saturday 14 September 2019. MAMMA MIA! will celebrate its 20th birthday in London on 6 April 2019. The box office for the new booking period is now open.

Based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, Annie has become a worldwide phenomenon and was the winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The beloved book and score by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, features some of the greatest musical theatre hits ever written, including 'Tomorrow.'

Mile Square Theatre continues its 2018 season with Christopher Durang's hilarious comedy about love, life and family, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. Durang drops a mixed bag of Chekhovian characters in contemporary Bucks County in this comic tour-de-force.

Buffalo Theatre Ensemble (BTE), the professional Equity company in residence at the McAninch Arts Center, 425 Fawell Blvd. on the campus of College of DuPage (COD) opens its 2018-2019 season with "The Dingdong, or How the French Kiss," a new adaptation by Mark Shanahan from "Le Dindon" by Georges Feydeau. Five actors play 13 roles in this bubbly, fast-paced adaptation of Feydeau's classic directed by BTE Artistic Director Connie Canaday Howard, where opening the wrong door can lead to mayhem, giggles and ultimately some unexpected understandings of a happy marriage. The play runs Sept. 6-Oct. 7. There will be a preview Sept. 6. Press opening is Friday, Sept. 7.   

Just in time for Halloween, Strawdog Theatre Company launches its 31st season with the world premiere of MASQUE MACABRE, a dark and bloody thrill ride inspired by the works of Edgar Allan Poe - think Carrie meets Eyes Wide Shut. The handlers of a 'bad boy' entrepreneur go to extremes to give him one last big bash before his past catches up to him. An explorative immersive theatre experience a la Sleep No More, guests travel from room to room throughout the space and follow stories of revenge and murder as they play out in real time.

Actor Patrick Cassidy, best known for his roles in musical theatre and television, headlines Some Enchanted Evening ~ A Night of Broadway Song & Dance to benefit Inland Pacific Ballet, the professional ballet company based in the Inland Empire. This 2nd annual intimate cabaret evening features song and dance by Inland Pacific Ballet dancers and Academy students, cocktails, hor d'oeuvres, dessert, silent/live auction, and is hosted by IPB Associate Director Jonathan Sharp (The Red Shoes, Carousel, The Rocky Horror Show Live, The Dance of the Vampires, Fiddler on the Roof). Some Enchanted Evening takes place on Saturday, September 22 at 6 p.m., at Inland Pacific Ballet located at 9061 Central Avenue, Montclair, 91763.

You Me At Six today continue their emphatic return with the release of their brand new single 'Back Again', launching as Annie Mac's 'Hottest Record' on BBC Radio 1. Internationally-recognized and Twin Cities-based Ananya Dance Theatre (ADT) will present the world premiere of Shaatranga: Women Weaving Worlds, a 90-minute dance without intermission, as part of Women of Substance at The O'Shaughnessy at St. Catherine University, St. Paul, Friday and Saturday, September 21-22 at 7:30pm. The work is the fifth in the company's five-year series on the theme 'Work Women Do.'

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced final casting for A Doll's House, Part 2, written by Lucas Hnath and directed by Les Waters, which begins previews on Thursday, September 6 and runs through Sunday, October 21. Individual tickets begin at $30 ($15 if you're under 35) and can be purchased online at berkeleyrep.org or by phone at 510 647-2949 beginning August 12, 2018. Subscription tickets are available now. Press night of this first show of Berkeley Rep's 50th anniversary season will be on Thursday, September 13.

BroadwayWorld has learned that Beth Leavel will lead The Muny's production of GYPSY as Mama Rose! The production will feature direction by Rob Ruggiero, choreography by Ralph Perkins, and music direction by James Moore.

As BroadwayWorld sadly reported, Tony Award Winner Gary Beach passed away this week at age 70. He is survived by his husband Jeffrey Barnett.

Park City Institute presents legendary singer and violinist, Lucia Micarelli, and award-winning cellist, Joshua Roman, on Sunday August 5th, at the 2018 St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights Concert Series. Dearborn Street, with book by Arthur Laurents, music by Jule Styne and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.  Porchlight Music Theatre's Gypsy stars E. Faye Butler as "Rose," is directed by Michael Weber, music directed by David Fiorello and choreographed/associate directed by Chris Carter.

Who hasn't been to one of the Broadway musical gems that play out in the open air amphitheatre during these blistering hot Austin summers? A gift to the community, the Zilker Summer Musical has been part of Austin for sixty years now. Always free to the public, this year's offering is ALL SHOOK UP, a jukebox musical from 2004 setting Elvis Presley's music to a book by Joe DiPietro. The story is based on William Shakespeare's 1602 play Twelfth Night. Since 1959, audiences have placed their blankets and lawn chairs under the stars at the Beverly S. Sheffield Zilker Hillside Theater to be treated to such Broadway hits as Hairspray, The Sound of Music, The Music Man, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Oklahoma, The Unsinkable Molly Brown and L'il Abner to name just a few. Shows that, in many cases, no other theatre in town would produce. BroadwayWorld recently had the opportunity to sit down with J. Robert Moore, the Artistic Director of Zilker Theatre Productions to talk about the Zilker musical as well as the organization.

Third Rail Repertory Theatre announces three Main Stage productions and one concert staging for the company's 13th Season - a set of impactful, inclusive shows produced with rigorous commitment to excellence and an abundance of craft.

The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and Joe's Pub at The Public join forces once again for the Kimmel Center Theater Residency. Under the tutelage of Jay Wahl, Producing Artistic Director of the Kimmel Center, and Shanta Thake, Director of Joe's Pub, the program serves as an incubator for artists and their collaborators to create and develop music and theater projects. The program will be held in the Kimmel Center's SEI Innovation Studio (300 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA) from June 18-30 with Public Readings, free and open to the public, on June 29 and 30. Readings will be followed by Q&A sessions with the artists.

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker is now a publisher, and joins TODAY along with the author of her imprint's first novel: Fatima Farheen Mirza, whose book “A Place for Us” is the story of a traditional Indian-American family in California torn between traditional and modern values. Parker calls Mirza “a new American voice.” Watch the clip below!
