Producers of The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre have unveiled its new 2018/2019 Season, which will also be the theatre's 25th Silver Anniversary Season. The curtain first rose on Way Off Broadway in 1995 with a production of Let the Good Times Roll. Since then, Way Off Broadway has produced over 100 productions, ranging from classic musicals to regional premieres.

Single Carrot's 11th season continues with an original LGBTQ+ adaptation of Peter Pan written by Joshua Conkel. Joshua and dramaturg Jolene Noelle will remain in Baltimore for the intensive workshop period through March 12, joining the team from Los Angeles and New York City respectively.

VIOLET is a 1997 musical with music by Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by Brian Crawley. It's based on the short story 'The Ugliest Pilgrim' by Doris Betts. The musical first premiered Off-Broadway in 1997 and won the Drama Critics' Circle Award and Lucille Lortel Award as Best Musical, it was later produced on Broadway but considered a revival. While it was Tony Award nominated, it did not win.

Trinity Repertory Company announced today that actress Mary McDonnell will be honored with the 2018 Pell Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts at the theater's 22nd annual Pell Awards Gala on Monday, May 21, 2018. A two-time Oscar nominee for Dances with Wolves and Passion Fish, McDonnell's theater, film and television career has spanned more than four decades with dynamic character portrayals in period and present-day roles, including TNT's The Closer and Major Crimes, Syfy's Battlestar Galactica, Donnie Darko, and Sneakers.

Trinity Repertory Company announced today that three area residents will be honored at its 2018 Pell Awards Gala on Monday, May 21, 2018 in Providence. Pawtucket-based designer and artist Morris Nathanson will receive a Rhode Island Pell Award for Excellence in the Arts. Longtime Providence philanthropist and arts advocate Jane S. Nelson will receive the Charles Sullivan Award for Distinguished Service in the Arts. The Pell Award for Outstanding Leadership in the Arts will go to Jeannine Chartier in recognition of her work with VSA arts Rhode Island. Additional honorees will be announced at a later date.

Who has never dreamed of imprisoning time, being eternally a child? The desires of Peter Pan populate the collective unconscious and follow as one of the great longings of humanity. No wonder, the fable of the boy who refused to grow up, created by J. M. Berrie, is more and more current. This classic became a reference in literature, in the cinema and also in the theater. The Broadway version of 'Peter Pan' will finally win a Brazilian staging, with Mateus Ribeiro in the title role and Daniel Boaventura as Captain Hook. The show directed by Jose Possi Neto and choreographed by Alonso Barros, premiered on March 8, at Teatro Alfa, in a production of Touche Entertainment and coproduction of Daniel Boaventura.
