New York's beloved Dance Theatre of Harlem, under the artistic direction of Virginia Johnson, returns to NY City Center for its annual homecoming season tonight, April 4, the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., with the annual Vision Gala, honoring dance legend Carmen de Lavallade and civil rights icon Xernona Clayton.

The Theatre Group at SBCC concludes the 17/18 season with the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, CRIMES OF THE HEART by Beth Henley.

Shakespeare & Company is pleased to announce the return of Lovers' Spat, this year with a new twist. The popular performance will be hosted by internationally acclaimed comedienne Alison Larkin. Company actors and guest performers explore the complexities of love in staged readings featuring theatre's most notorious couples' loving, fighting, scheming and wooing. Lover's Spat is directed by Artistic Director Allyn Burrows and will be performed in the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre on Saturday, February 17 at 7:00pm and Sunday, February 18 at 2:00pm.

Broadway Kids Jam has released their latest jam session cover video, 'We Go Together', from the hit movie and Broadway musical, Grease. The Manhattan Association of Cabarets (MAC) will present Tony nominee SHARON McNIGHT and RUBY RIMS with its 2018 Lifetime Achievement Awards at the 32nd Annual MAC Awards to be held Tuesday, March 27 at 7:00 pm at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City.

In a new interview with ET, stage veteran Victor Garber admits he is 'nervous' about returning to Broadway in the role of Horace Vandergelder in the Tony-winning revival of HELLO, DOLLY! The actor takes the stage opposite Bernadette Petters beginning Saturday, January 20th.

Performance Space New York (formerly Performance Space 122) presents the East Village Series, its first semi-annual themed series, and the first program curated by the institution's new Executive Artistic Director, Jenny Schlenzka. This presentation of works from some of today's most radical performers and multidisciplinary artists resituates the institution in newly revamped spaces, designed by Deborah Berke Partners, in 122 Community Center (150 First Avenue, at East 9th Street), where Performance Space 122 was founded, and where it operated until it moved out in 2011 for the building renovation. The series contemplates the past, present, and future of the organization and its neighborhood.

Picturing Mississippi, 1817 2017: Land of Plenty, Pain, and Promise, the landmark exhibition exploring Mississippi identity, commemorates the 200th anniversary of Mississippi's statehood. Illuminating the perception and depiction of Mississippi over more than 200 years, the exhibition showcases 175 works by 100 artists who either resided in the state, visited, or lived elsewhere and were compelled to respond to a multiplicity of subjects. From Choctaw objects and sweeping landscapes to portraiture and contemporary work, the exhibition reveals that Mississippi has continuously resonated with artists in powerful ways as lived experience, memory, and imagination.

In October of 1978 Will Eisner published 'A Contract with God and Other Tenement Stories.' The fictional tale ushered in a new venue, the graphic novel, using the drawing media to tell tales.

An unforgettable performance by Kristin Chenoweth topped a star-studded evening Saturday as the Center for the Performing Arts hosted its 6th Annual Songbook Celebration presented by Krieg DeVault. The gala in the elegant Palladium concert hall drew 550 attendees and raised over $600,000 to support the Center's artistic and educational programming. Producer Scott Rudin announced today that four-time Tony Award® nominee and six-time Emmy Award® nominee Victor Garber will return to Broadway in the role of Horace Vandergelder, opposite Bernadette Peters, in the hottest production of the year: Michael Stewart and Jerry Herman's beloved musical Hello, Dolly!. 

Grease is the word at Starlight Theatre now through Thursday, Sept. 14. The beloved musical that features 1950s' high school romance and rock 'n' roll will cruise across the Starlight stage like Greased Lightnin' for six performances, opening on Friday night, Sept. 8 and continuing through Sept. 14.
