The Outre Theatre Company presents the first production of its 2017/18 season, George Orwell's 1984, in its new home at the recently opened Pompano Beach Cultural Center. The play 1984 is based on George Orwell's dystopian novel published in 1949. In 2005 the novel was chosen by Time magazine as one of the 100 best English-language novels. Many of its terms and concepts, such as Big Brother, doublethink, thoughtcrime, cold war, and Newspeak have permanently entered into common use since its first publication.

The Human Race Theatre Company has introduced the lineup for its 2017-2018 Eichelberger Loft Season - a five-show collection of works that are sure to entertain as the organization begins its third decade of producing high-caliber professional theatre for Miami Valley audiences. Starting in the back of the packed Feinstein's/54 Below house with 'It's a New World' (Harold Arlen/Ira Gershwin), Molly Pope has your attention. The band has played the overture; now it is her turn, crooning in silence. As suddenly as the first number ends, you're launched into the energetic 'Gotta Have Me Go with You,' Pope working her way through the crowd to the stage to join Brian Beach and Danny Bevins, her pair of enthusiastic backup dancers for the evening and the final pieces of her very complete transformation into Vicki Lester.

The Flat Rock Playhouse 2016 season is celebrating the holiday season with a brand new Music on the Rock featuring classic carols that will transport you and your family to a winter wonderland not at the North Pole, but in the rolling green hills of Ireland. A Celtic Christmas will run from December 1st though the 18th at The Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown on Main Street in Hendersonville.
