An Ideal Husband Photos - West End

Reading Rep Theatre and Original Theatre have released photos from their upcoming new production of Micheál Mac Liammóir’s renowned play, The Importance of Being Oscar, which will run at Reading Rep Theatre from 24 May - 8 June and star Original Theatre’s Artistic Director Alastair Whatley.

Early in my acting career, I was represented by an agency that got me an audition for a recurring role in the series Breaking Bad. It clearly would have been the biggest break of my acting career. I had a short side of two pages to learn for the audition. Usually, I have a pretty photographic memory for lines, and I work hard to be sure I know them cold. But for this audition due to nervousness I could never get the lines solid, and sadly what the producers saw was not a potential character in their show, but an actor clearly struggling to remember the next word he was supposed to say. My biggest opportunity and worst audition all rolled into one disappointing 10-minute take.

Gloucester Stage Company continues its 39th season of professional theater with the New England premiere of Jason O'Connell and Brenda Withers' Cyrano from July 13 through August 11 at Gloucester Stage Company, 267 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA. Based on the Hollywood hit, and directed and choreographed by Marc Robin, this production will bring the Sparklejollytwinklejingley to Philadelphia audiences this holiday season. The Drama Desk Nominated Off-Broadway company Marvell Repertory Theatre, New York's only professional theatre - and one of only a handful in the entire nation - devoted exclusively to producing new and enduring works in rotating repertory, will present Sophocles' classic Greek tragedy ANTIGONE directed by Marvell Rep Artistic Director Lenny Leibowitz in repertory with the world premiere of MOMMALOGUES by Sharon Lee Glassman and Gretchen Klinedinst Furst and directed by William Sanders, now thorugh June 2nd at the TBG Theatre (312 West 36th street, 3rd Floor) in Manhattan. Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP), dedicated to the development and production of new plays by Western New York (WNY) playwrights, will bring yet another world premiere to fruition in March, when it debuts SEEDS, a new play by RLTP Ensemble Member Donna Hoke. The comedy/drama will open in Downtown Buffalo's Theatre District on Friday, March 1st, 2013 and will star Kelly Jakiel, Diane Curley, Todd Benzin, Diane DiBernardo, and Pamela Rosa Mangus. The Old Globe today announced principal casting for the Globe's 2012 Shakespeare Festival. Craig Noel Award winner Jay Whittaker returns to the Festival for his third consecutive season to appear in the title role of William Shakespeare's Richard III. He will also appear as Oliver in Shakespeare's As You Like It. Also returning to the Festival are Craig Noel Award winner Robert Foxworth and Adrian Sparks, who will take to the courtroom floor as titanic lawyers Henry Drummond and Matthew Harrison Brady, respectively, in the Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee classic Inherit the Wind. Foxworth, an Old Globe Associate Artist, will also play Lord Hastings in Richard III, and Sparks will play Lord Mayor of London in Richard III and Corin in As You Like It. Festival veteran Dana Green will star as Rosalind, and Dan Amboyer, new to the Festival stage, will play Orlando, the object of her affections, in As You Like It. Green will also play Queen Elizabeth in Richard III. Amboyer will also be featured as Bertram Cates in Inherit the Wind and the Earl of Richmond in Richard III. Festival newcomer Jacques C. Smith will play Jacques in As You Like It, the Duke of Buckingham in Richard III and Mr. Meeker in Inherit the Wind. Adrian Noble returns for his third outing as Artistic Director of the Shakespeare Festival and will helm As You Like It and Inherit the Wind. Renowned British director Lindsay Posner makes his debut at the Globe with his production of Richard III. Noble recently directed the World Premiere stage version of The King's Speech, which is currently touring England, and Posner's hit revival of Noises Off is currently playing at London's Old Vic and will transfer to the West End in March. The 2012 Shakespeare Festival, performed in repertory in the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre, runs June 3 - Sept. 30, 2012.

After the success of Brief Encounter in the West End and on Broadway, Kneehigh's new adaptation of Jacques Demy and Michel Legrand's The Umbrellas of Cherbourg will arrive at the Gielgud Theatre following a limited run at Curve, Leicester.

After the success of Brief Encounter in the West End and on Broadway, Kneehigh's new adaptation of Jacques Demy and Michel Legrand's The Umbrellas of Cherbourg will arrive at the Gielgud Theatre following a limited run at Curve, Leicester. The Umbrellas of Cherbourg will begin previews on 5 March, with press night on 22 March and is booking until 1 October 2011. Directed by Emma Rice, with lyrics translated by Sheldon Harnick, designs by Lez Brotherston, lighting by Malcolm Rippeth, sound by Simon Baker and musical supervision by Nigel Lilley, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg will be produced in the West End by Daniel Sparrow and Mike Walsh Productions, Curve Leicester and City Lights International in association with BE MY Productions.

Ground UP Productions (Kate Middleton, Producing Artistic Director) will present the world premiere of Michael I. Walker's Letter from Algeria, which plays at the June Havoc Theatre at the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex (312 West 36th St., 2nd Floor) October 29 through November 20, 2010.

Tracie Bennett will play Judy Garland in the West End premiere of Peter Quilter's End of the Rainbow. Directed by Terry Johnson, End of the Rainbow combines humour and heartbreak to capture both the drama of Garland's final performances in London and her controversial life off stage.

Great Lakes Theater Festival (GLTF) will commence its 2010-11 season in the company's revolutionary home at the Hanna Theatre, PlayhouseSquare, with a Fall Repertory that features William Shakespeare's psychological thriller, Othello and Oscar Wilde's witty comedy, An Ideal Husband. The productions will be performed in rotating repertory September 24 - October 31, 2010. The Fall Repertory features GLTF's resident artistic company of actors performing two alternating plays on the same stage over six weeks. Risa Brainin will direct Othello and Sari Ketter will direct An Ideal Husband.
