BRIC is pleased to announce that iconic GRAMMY Award-winning entertainer Patti LaBelle will open BRIC's 41st season with a free concert on June 4 to open their annual BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival at the Prospect Park Bandshell. Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee and Journey member Jonathan Cain releases his first new single of 2019, “More Like Jesus,” from Identity Records. Lookingglass Theatre Company presents the world premiere of Act(s) of God, by Ensemble Member Kareem Bandealy, directed by Ensemble Member Heidi Stillman. Act(s) of God runs February 13 April 7, 2019 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson. The press performances are February 22 and February 23 at 7:30 p.m.

Prime Cut Productions has announced further details for Removed, a brand new play inspired by interviews with young people growing up in care in Northern Ireland, created in collaboration with playwright Fionnuala Kennedy and Voice Of Young People In Care (VOYPIC), and in association with Young at Art. Removed will receive its world premiere at Belfast Children's Festival on Saturday 9 March and run from 07 to 16 March 2019 at the Brian Friel Theatre.

After his hit production of King Charles III, David Muse returns to Shakespeare Theatre Company to direct Shakespeare's Richard the Third, a mesmerizing chronicle of the megalomaniac's rampage to the throne. Previews begin on January 30, 2019 with a press opening today, February 7, 2019 at 7:30pm in the Lang Theatre at the Atlas Performing Arts Center. The 19 performance run will be informed by a stripped down aesthetic and an emphasis on script updates through the lengthier than usual preview period and the evolving nature of the documentary-based rehearsal process.

Sloan Foundation (Doron Weber, Vice-President, Programs) announced today a second extension for the World Premiere of Behind the Sheet, written by Charly Evon Simpson (Jump) and directed by Colette Robert (Mary's Wedding). Part of the EST/Sloan Science & Technology Project (Graeme Gillis, Program Director; Linsay Firman, Associate Director), Behind the Sheet began previews at EST's Curt Dempster Theatre (549 W. 52nd Street, New York, NY 10019) on January 9, 2019, and opened January 17. Originally set to close on February 3, the play will now run through February 17, 2019.

The Playwrights Realm (Founding Artistic Director Katherine Kovner and Producing Director Roberta Pereira) announces Beyond the Realm (February 2019), a month-long festival showcasing bold new works-in-progress by four boundary-pushing playwrights, with four workshops of new plays by MJ Kaufman, Nia Witherspoon, Michael Yates Crowley, and Asiimwe Deborah Kawe. Responsiveness and a commitment to playwrights' needs are at the heart of the Realm's practice; with the launch of this new program-in lieu of a second full-length production this season-the Realm seizes the opportunity to devote the beginning of the year to these four playwrights testing and honing their exhilarating new works. Throughout a month of programming, the definitions of theater will be challenged as the festival creates new ways of presenting live storytelling and blurs the lines that divide creators from spectators. Asolo Repertory Theatre proudly continues its 60th season with Lucas Hnath's A DOLL'S HOUSE, PART 2.  The 2017 Broadway premiere was nominated for 8 Tony Awards, including Best Play, and garnered a Best Actress Tony Award for Laurie Metcalf. Helmed by longtime Asolo Rep favorite Peter Amster, this hilariously imagined sequel to the Ibsen classic previews January 16 and 17, opens January 18 and runs through March 31 in rotating repertory in the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts.
