The Metropolitan Opera's new production of La Traviata, opening December 4, will be the first opera conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin as the Met's Jeanette Lerman-Neubauer Music Director. Soprano Diana Damrau, who made her acclaimed role debut as Violetta at the Met during the 2012–2013 season (with Maestro Nézet-Séguin on the podium), returns as the tragic heroine.

Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA; Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director) presents the New York Premiere of C.I.C.T. - Theatre du Bouffes du Nord's The Prisoner, continuing Peter Brook's 40-year-long collaboration with playwright/director Marie-Helene Estienne.  

Following its critically acclaimed run at the Brits Off Broadway Festival, the much-applauded British production of Operation Crucible premieres in New York City at The Davenport Theatre, 354 W. 45th Street, October 31, 2018 and running through December 23, 2018 at Tues-Sat - 8pm; Sat & Sun 2:30pm and 7pm.

Today, Hotel Nikko San Francisco Vice President and General Manager Anna Marie Presutti and Michael Feinstein named Randy Taradash as Creative Director and General Manager of Feinstein's at the Nikko. Taradash joins Feinstein's at the Nikko after serving over 19 years at American Conservatory Theater, San Francisco's premier non-profit theater organization. Taradash's appointment with Feinstein's at the Nikko will commence on November 12, 2018.

Joshua Henry, a three time Tony award nominee, most recently in 2018 for his role in Carousel,  will receive the Frost Distinguished Alumnus Award at the October 15th Frost Music Live concert  "Broadway at Frost."  

Michael Thomas Holmes and Tim Rogan have joined the cast of 'The Rocky Horror Show' at Bucks County Playhouse. Holmes will play Dr. Scott/The Narrator and Rogan will play Rocky. They replaced previously announced cast members Jennifer Van Dyck and Erik Altemus, respectively.

The Metropolitan Opera presents the North American premiere of Marnie, an original Met commission by composer Nico Muhly and librettist Nicholas Wright, on October 19, 2018, with performances continuing until November 10. Based on Winston Graham's haunting novel, which also inspired the classic Alfred Hitchcock film, Marnie is conducted by Robert Spano in his Met debut and directed by Michael Mayer, who created the staging for the opera's world premiere at English National Opera in 2017. The November 10 matinee will be transmitted live to movie theaters throughout the world as part of the Met's Live in HD series.

Greater Boston Stage Company proudly announces the second Don Fulton New Play Project, The Salonnieres. By acclaimed playwright, Liz Duffy Adams, The Salonnieres, set in pre-Revolutionary Paris, is an evening filled with fairytales, facades, and the feminist revolution. Directed by Producing Artistic Director Weylin Symes, performances run October 25 - November 11, 2018. The Press Opening is Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 3:00pm.

In an updated chamber version never before seen on the West Coast, ArtsWest will next stage John Caird & Paul Gordon's Tony-nominated musical JANE EYRE, adapted from Charlotte Bronte's classic story of passion, self-discovery, and freedom. Performances will run Thursday through Sunday until December 23.

Transport Group has announced casting for its world premiere musical, Renascence, which begins performances Friday, October 5 at 7:30pm, at the Abrons Arts Center, 466 Grand Street. Renascence has music by Carmel Dean (musical director If/Then, American Idiot), book by Dick Scanlan (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Everyday Rapture), and lyrics from the poems of Edna St. Vincent Millay. The musical is directed by artistic director Jack Cummings III and Dick Scanlan. The opening is set for Thursday, October 25 at 7:30pm.

Actors' Equity Association has announced that Once on This Island will receive the eleventh annual Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway Award for the 2017-2018 season. Presented by Equity's National Equal Employment Opportunity Committee, the Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway Award honors shows that exemplify and promote the union's founding principles of diversity, inclusion, non-traditional casting and equal opportunity for all who work in the theatre.

ArtsWest will open the 2018/19 season on September 20 with SKELETON CREW, the Seattle premiere of Dominique Morisseau's powerful final entry in her celebrated Detroit Cycle. Performances will run Thursday through Sunday until October 14.

The international movement and entertainment company, Pilobolus (Executive Producer, Itamar Kubovy; Renee Jaworski and Matt Kent, artistic directors), kicks-off its first ever Pilobolus Five Senses Festival this weekend. A celebration of arts and ideas convening the company's vast network of creative, world-renowned collaborators in its own backyard of Washington, Connecticut, the festival begins Friday, July 27 and runs through August 11, rain or shine. Transport Group has announced its 2018-2019 mainstage season of two productions: Renascence, a world premiere musical about a radical and reckless poet and The Trial of the Catonsville Nine, a play about the trial that sparked a national wave of Vietnam War resistance. Renascence will run October 5 - November 17, 2018 and The Trial of the Catonsville Nine will run January 16 - February 23, 2019. Both productions will be presented at the Abrons Arts Center, 466 Grand Street, New York City. Transport Group season memberships are now on sale on their website: transportgroup.org. Casting and additional staffing announcements and single ticket sales will be available at a later date.
