PRETTY WOMAN is walking down the street... 41st Street. The new musical begins Broadway performances later this month on July 20, at the Nederlander Theatre, with an official opening night of Thursday, August 16, 2018. Before previews get started there are just a few things that you should know about the new musical!

The Orchard Project, a nationally renowned performance laboratory, today announced the six original, independent pilots selected to participate in its first annual Episodic Lab. More than 430 artists applied to the inaugural year of the Episodic Lab, which will help writers develop television and episodic content, working with accomplished showrunners and producers as mentors. The pioneer artists include playwrights, cartoonist, and screenwriters — and they are working on a diverse set of pilots, focusing on everything from the world of rap to the world of celebrity cruises. Selected artists and projects include: BRIGHTSTAR! By Michael Cyril Creighton; CRACK'D by Nako Adodoadji; THE PARK by Amy Jephta; THE SHAMROCKS by Chris Sharp and Kate Barry; THE STRIP by Tom Toro; and TINO & HEDDY by Patricia Scanlon and Louis Mustillo.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company is pleased to announce the complete casting and directors for the first four shows of its 2018/19 season: Downstate by Pulitzer Prize-winning ensemble member Bruce Norris; Familiar by Danai Gurira; La Ruta by Isaac Gomez; and A Doll's House, Part 2 by Lucas Hnath. Directors Danya Taymor (Familiar) and Robin Witt (A Doll's House, Part 2) are added to the 2018/19 director lineup. The Orchard Project is proud to announce the artists, teams, and ensembles participating in its twelfth summer theatre residency program. More than 30 artists and ensembles were selected for residencies this summer from nearly 600 theatre artists and companies who applied. The artists, teams, and companies will come to Saratoga Springs from across the United States and the world to accelerate projects at various stages of development. Due to an overwhelming demand, Berkeley Rep has announced that the world premiere musical of Ain't Too Proud-The Life and Times of The Temptations will extend for two additional weeks. Originally scheduled to close on October 8, the popular musical will now run through Sunday, October 22.
