The stars align on August 2nd at the Ocean Grove Great Auditorium for an evening of spectacular music making as noted American conductor Jason C. Tramm leads the 65-member MidAtlantic Opera Orchestra, Metropolitan Opera tenor Ronald Naldi, and renown musician soloists, organist Gordon Turk and violinist Byung Kook Kwak in a concert which promises to be nothing less than stellar. 'Grand Orchestra Finale' concludes the acclaimed Ocean Grove classical concert series 'Summer Stars' which runs throughout July and early August with its traditional orchestral show stopper.

On Friday, September 7, 2018, the award-winning Tesla Quartet(Ross Snyder & Michelle Lie, violins; Edwin Kaplan, viola; Serafim Smigelskiy, cello) releases its debut album, Haydn, Ravel, and Stravinsky, on Orchid Classics. The record features performances of Ravel's String Quartet in F major; Haydn's String Quartet in C major, Op.54 No.2; Stravinsky's Concertino for String Quartet; and three works by Ravel newly arranged for string quartet by Tesla violinist Ross Snyder: Menuet sur le nom d'Haydn, Menuet antique, and Menuet in C sharp minor.

Four wildly talented actor-musicians deliver a toe-tapping, hand-clapping, sing-along summer experience for all generations in Woody Sez: The Life & Music of Woody Guthrie, back by popular demand at People's Light. Folk revolutionary Guthrie showed you can strum a revolution with joy. Current troubadour David M. Lutken and friends celebrate the fascinating, beautiful, and sometimes tragic life of the legend who inspired Dylan, Springsteen, DiFranco, and an entire songwriting tradition. Featuring 15 instruments, 25 songs, and comprised almost entirely of Guthrie's own words, Woody Sez runs August 1-26 on the Leonard C. Haas Stage in Malvern.

The Menier Chocolate Factory today announces full casting for the UK premiere of Jordi Galceran's The Gronholm Method. Making his UK directorial debut, BT McNicholl directs Jonathan Cake (Frank), Greg McHugh (Carl), Laura Pitt-Pulford (Melanie) and John Gordon Sinclair (Rick). The production opens on 22 May, with previews from 10 May, and runs until 7 July.

The cast is announced today for the European premiere of Jordan Seavey's Homos, or Everyone in America at the Finborough Theatre. Josh Seymour directs Tyrone Huntley (The Academic), Harry McEntire (The Writer), Dan Krikler (Dan) and Cash Holland (Laila). The production opens for a four-week limited season on Thursday, 9 August 2018, with previews from 7 August, playing until 1 September.

Steppenwolf for Young Adults (SYA) announces the full casting for its first show of the 2018/19 season, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. This Tony Award-winning play is adapted by Simon Stephens, based on the book by Mark Haddon and directed by Steppenwolf Artistic Producer Jonathan Berry.

Society for the Performing Arts (SPA), the largest nonprofit presenting organization of its kind in the Southwest, announces additions to its 2018-2019 season line-up. Since its initial unveiling in May, five shows have been added to SPA's season including eight performances of the legendary Broadway show, Chicago. Also joining the line-up is An Evening with Margaret Atwood, a conversation with the riveting author behind the best-selling novel The Handmaid's Tale, now an Emmy and Golden Globe series available on Hulu.

LUMBERYARD Contemporary Performing Arts opens its inaugural summer 2018 season, which will fill venues surrounding the organization's highly anticipated new facility in Catskill, New York, with Scat!,a dance-driven musical from Urban Bush Women set in Hudson, NY's Club Helsinki (June 29-July 1). The imaginative and increasingly important Key Pianists concert series, founded by pianist Terry Eder in 2015, embarks on its fourth season with a recital by Norman Krieger, who 'owns a world of technique' (Los Angeles Times), on Wednesday evening, October 17, 2018 at 8 pm at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall. His program will include Brahms' Sonata in C Major and Beethoven's Sonata in D minor, as well as works by Chopin, Lazaroff, and Fine. On Tuesday evening, February 26, 2019 at 8 pm, pianist Jason Hardink-dubbed 'a pianist of such extraordinary power-and memory-that he is difficult to forget' by ConcertoNet's Harry Rolnick (14 Dec 2015)-will give a recital of 19th- and 20th-century gems by Eckardt, Debussy, Liszt, Xenakis, and Messiaen. To close out the season, series founder Terry Eder, noted for her 'fascinating [performances] full of life and risk' (New York Concert Review, Summer 2006), performs Schubert's Impromptu in F Minor, Op. 142, No. 1 and Beethoven Piano Sonata No. 28, as well as works by Debussy, Dohnanyi, and Kodaly.

Park Square Theatre's Andy Boss Thrust Stage is once again the home to Flying Foot Forum's signature storytelling with FRENCH TWIST, a cabaret of gorgeous music, theatrical storytelling and percussive dance set in a Paris Nightclub that runs from June 22 to July 15, 2018. I have seen and loved many shows by The Dollface Dames performed at other locations in our city, each show having a different feel to it along with each group's own style of choreography. There is so much variety, within their shows and the venues where they perform, no two shows have ever been alike. So, I was very excited to visit a real speakeasy where the art of burlesque began. Our evening began with a 40-minute private tour of the R6 Distillery in El Segundo with Head Distiller and Owner, Rob Rubens, who carefully explained the distilling process and facility, noting it is the only establishment in Los Angeles where both hard alcohol and beer are created from scratch. But then it was on to the show in the distillery's Speakeasy!

Bryony Lavery's critically acclaimed play Frozen, starring Suranne Jones (Save Me, Doctor Foster, Scott & Bailey), Nina Sosanya (W1A, Last Tango in Halifax) and Jason Watkins (Line of Duty, Taboo, W1A), will end its scheduled run at Theatre Royal Haymarket on Saturday 5 May 2018.

There is something profound about the simple. Such is the driving force behind the Nederlands Dans Theater's (NDT) program currently playing at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Three shockingly different dances fill this two hour program and, while the dancers wrap themselves about in complex positions regularly, the emotions portrayed are always simple and translate brilliantly. Artistic Directors Paul Lightfoot and Sol Leon are to be commended for their diverse and cutting-edge selections.
