Mercury Theater Chicago, 3745 N Southport Ave., announces that the hit musical THE COLOR PURPLE, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Alice Walker, is extended through Sunday, November 10 due to popular demand.

CAPS LOCK THEATRE presents THE SEX WITH ROBOTS FESTIVAL, a series of short plays about sex with robots, written by a formidable group of playwrights: Micheline Auger, Danny Bowes, J. Julian Christopher, Richard Lovejoy & Eric Meyer, Mariah McCarthy, Mac Rogers, Leah Nanako Winkler and Natalie Zutter, with a robot sex song cycle by Nat Cassidy. The festival is set for November 5-10 at the Secret Theatre in Long Island City.

On Saturday, October 12th, noted arranger and producer, Fred Barton, whose work is heard regularly in concert halls around the country, is celebrating composer Richard Rodgers on the Schimmel stage. Opening night is set for Thursday, September 12 at 7pm. Fetch Clay, Make Man is scheduled to run through Sunday, October 13; tickets are on sale now.

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, one of Napa Valley's most iconic wineries, unveiled the design for its state-of-the-art Visitor Center at an official ceremony yesterday with winery principals Ted Baseler (President and CEO of Ste.
