On March 19, 2018, Virginia's Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre honored legendary Broadway composer John Kander with the company's ninth Stephen Sondheim Award. The Stephen Sondheim Award was presented at a black-tie Gala Benefit at the Embassy of Italy and will benefit Signature Theatre's artistic, education, and community programs.

Watch Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway present the Best Picture 2018 nominees at the Oscars. Warren states its good to see everyone again. Faye echoes his excitement saying presenting is better the second time around.

Golden Globe nominee John James headlines the cast of William Gibson's The Miracle Worker at Judson Theatre Company (Morgan Sills, Executive Producer and Daniel Haley, Artistic Director). James is best known for playing "Jeff Colby" in the primetime soap Dynasty and its spinoff series The Colbys.  

Based on the short story by Isak Dinesen (and made famous by the 1987 Academy Award-winning film), Babette's Feast will begin performances Wednesday March 14th at the Theatre at Saint Clement's (423 West 46th Street, between Ninth & Tenth Avenues) for an open-ended Off-Broadway engagement.  Opening Night is set for Sunday March 25th (5pm).  The performance runs 90 minutes with no intermission.

Portland Stage is pleased to present Babette's Feast, running Jan 23 through Feb 18 on the Mainstage. This production of Babette's Feast was conceived and developed by Portland Stage Affiliate Artist Abigail Killeen in a process that began over a decade ago. BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that comedian and Broadway vet Shelley Berman died today, September 1, 2017, at his home in Bell Canyon, Calif., due to complications from Alzheimer's. He was 92 years old.

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, SWEENEY TODD, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, COMPANY, CABARET, FOLLIES. Each was directed and/or produced by Broadway legend Harold Prince. Each contributed to his record-high pile of Tony awards, and has been produced and acclaimed across the world.

In April 1950, a young Harold Prince took his first stride on Broadway, assistant stage managing the Grace and Paul Hartman-led revue TICKETS, PLEASE! at the Coronet Theatre. Now, six decades, 21 Tony Awards and over 50 Broadway shows later, Prince prepares for another Broadway opening - this one, a revue of his own work.
