Shakespeare's Globe has announced the full cast for the 2020 Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank production of Macbeth, directed by Cressida Brown. This full-scale, fast-paced production is created especially for young people, and will open on Wednesday 26 February until Wednesday 25 March. This year, the demand was so high that over 18,000 free tickets were allocated to state secondary schools in London and Birmingham in just one day, with thousands more students expected to watch the production during its run.

A Taste of Honey at Trafalgar Studios must end on Saturday 29 February 2020.

Kevin Kwan, author of Crazy Rich Asians, will take the stage at Irvine Barclay Theatre on February 6 as part of the venue's new speaker series, Fresh Take. From today, thousands of children and families will be experiencing the magic of live theatre for free, as the 22nd annual Kids Week kicks off in London's West End and beyond.

Inua Ellams's Barber Shop Chronicles returns to London after a tour around the world to play the Roundhouse in Camden for a limited six-week run. The first show will be the London premiere of Dave Malloy's celebrated song cycle Ghost Quartet brought to life by the team behind the recent hit production of Sweeney Todd which won great acclaim in London and New York. Ghost Quartet will run alongside a packed roster of late-night and Sunday performances of cabaret, improv, jazz, comedy, classical music and poetry. The Boulevard Theatre's 2020 season will be announced in September.

Lynette Linton has this morning announced her inaugural season as Artistic Director of the Bush Theatre. The 2019 - 2020 season includes UK debut plays from six playwrights alongside a new production of celebrated poet and playwright Jackie Kay's first play Chiaroscuro directed by Lynette Linton. Five Senior Artistic Associates have been announced as actress Adjoa Andoh, movement director Polly Bennett, producers Shawab Iqbal and Tobi Kyeremateng and actress Martha Plimpton. The associates will support an expansion of the Bush Theatre's initiatives to involve new writers and theatre practitioners in the theatre industry.
