The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle announced the recipients of its 51st annual awards for distinguished achievement in theatre today, Tuesday, April 28, 2020.

Syracuse Stage announced today that the Tony Award winning musical a?oeOncea?? and the Cold Read Festival of New Plays, originally scheduled for this spring, will move to dates in September. a?oeOncea?? will perform Sept. 16 a?" Oct. 4 and Cold Read Sept. 22 a?" 27. Both remain part of the currently suspended 2019/2020 season. Single tickets for a?oeOncea?? will be on sale again July 25.

Artistic director Robert Hupp said the shows in the season all in some way address ideas of home 'in all its idealized, romanticized, messy and real manifestations.'

The Walnut Street Theatre continues its 2019-20 Independence Studio on 3 season with the Philadelphia premiere of the quirky comedy, POPCORN FALLS. The Guthrie Theater has announced the cast and creative team for the playful world premiere of Emma, written by Kate Hamill, based on the novel by Jane Austen and directed by Meredith McDonough. Fresh off his wins for BroadwayWorld's Best Debut Show and Best Independent Recording of 2019, Mark returns to The Green Room 42 on Friday March 6th at 7pm to continue his love affair with the Great American Songbook. Mark hypnotizes with a set of enduring classics filtered through his youthful perspective and talent set. The show is distinctly new-age romantic, while still evocative of golden-age cinematic glamour. Working on The Creature [Frankenstein Retold] has been the biggest challenge but also the absolute highlight of my career. Ciaran McConville' s play has a complex narrative where the audience are told a story-within-a-story in snippets, along with the characters. Our Dr Frankenstein character is a driven young scientist who is deeply affected by loss and a desire for a better world. The play is transported to a modern setting where new technologies are used, just like in Mary Shelley's original, to create a creature with monstrous and potentially catastrophic abilities.
