As Southwest Shakespeare Company enters its 29th Season, the theatre company has named the Founder of Harlem Shakespeare Festival, Debra Ann Byrd, as the company’s new Artistic Director. A native of Spanish Harlem, New York, Byrd is an award-winning classically trained actress and producer and arts administrator. 

The cast includes: Adele Anderson playing Head Waiter (Fascinating Aïda), Lewis Cornay playing Arpad Laszlo (John and Jen, The Book of Mormon), Andy Coxon playing Steven Kodaly (Curtains, West Side Story), Marc Elliott playing Ladislav Sipos (The Girl on the Train, Macbeth), Kaisa Hammarlund playing Ilona Ritter (Fun Home, Sweet Charity), and more!

Mint Theater Company will continue the highly popular Silver Lining Streaming Series with the on-demand streaming of the two-camera archival recording (filmed in HD!) of A Picture of Autumn by N.C Hunter, directed by Gus Kaikkonen beginning Monday April 19th, and continuing through June 13th.

Lantern Theater Company continues its reimagined 2020/21 season with a filmed version of its 2019 mainstage production of Measure for Measure by William Shakespeare, directed by Lantern Artistic Director Charles McMahon, and streaming April 6 – May 2, 2021.

Shakespeare's Globe is preparing to reopen its outdoor theatre on 19 May 2021. Provided the conditions are met for Step 3 of the Government's roadmap for cultural reopening, the Globe will be welcoming audiences in for socially distanced performances, having closed on 18 March 2020.

The Royal Shakespeare Company's (RSC) 2018 production of Romeo and Juliet will be broadcast on BBC Two at 2pm on Tuesday 9 February as part of the BBC's Lockdown Learning's Shakespeare Week.  The production will then be available on BBC iPlayer for 60 days.
