The Oregon Shakespeare Festival announced today the launch of a 39-play, three-year commissioning project, Play on! 36 playwrights translate Shakespeare.

It is announced today that the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company, in partnership with Picturehouse Entertainment, will broadcast three productions of its year-long Plays at the Garrick season live to cinemas worldwide. Full casting has today been announced for the West End run of the Royal Court Theatre's production of Hangmen. ProducersRobert Fox, Matthew Byam Shaw for Playful Productions and Royal Court Theatre Productions are delighted to announce that Andy Nyman will play Syd, Craig Parkinson will take on the role of Inspector Fry and Tony Hirst will play Bill, completing the cast of the West End production. Virginia Repertory Theatre announces the opening of the award-winning American musical, GYPSY, at the Sara Belle and Neil November Theatre, 114 West Broad Street on Friday, November 20 with a Preview on Thursday, November 19. The show runs through January 10, 2015. With music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and book by Arthur Laurents, GYPSY is considered a crowning achievement in American musical theatre.

Two brothers, Earl and Ray, travel to Bernalillo New Mexico upon the mysterious death of their estranged father, Henry. Over a bottle of bourbon and a box of old photographs, they try to reconcile their very different childhood memories. Earl's version of Henry's death doesn't add up; so Ray determines to find the truth.  As Ray plays detective we encounter Henry's bizarre collection of friends as the story of his last days is uncovered. Family tensions are blown apart as Ray discovers more than he'd bargained for…

Steven Berkoff and Shobu Kapoor return to the stage to play opposite Sanjeev Bhaskar in the world premiere of Anthony Horowitz's new play Dinner with Saddam.  The production, directed by Lindsay Posner, opens on 22 September, with previews from 10 September, and runs until 14 November.

Hampstead Theatre is delighted to announce an outstanding cast for David Hare's fascinating new play. Joining Roger Allam, who plays John Christie, are Nancy Carroll as Audrey Mildmay, Paul Jesson as Dr Fritz Busch, Nick Sampson as Professor Carl Ebert and George Taylor as Rudolf Bing.
