Student Blog: Dramaturgy and Why I'm Afraid to Ask For the Seat at the Table I Know I Deserve
by Student Blogger: Paige Rosko - Dec 2, 2021

No matter what someone does in the theater, respect them. We are all working people trying to do what we love. No matter if it is the dramaturg or the technical director or the lead actor or the front of house manager: we are all here. Every single person in the theater has put their life-blood into making it work and there is no reason why anyone should feel like they do not deserve to be there or that their work is not useful to the company.

Student Blog: Broadway Characters as Songs From Red (Taylor's Version)
by Student Blogger: Paige Rosko - Nov 17, 2021

Taylor Swift just dropped her second re-recorded album, Red (Taylor's Version), and I am more obsessed with it now than I was when it originally came out in 2012. So, in honor of this momentous album and all of the wonderful songs on it, I've decided to assign a broadway character or relationship to each of the 30 songs on the album, excluding acoustic versions and songs that are on the album twice. Also, I will be skipping 'Ronan' because that song makes me very sad and cry a lot and I cannot emotionally handle analyzing it.

Student Blog: Yeah, But Not Right Now
by Student Blogger: Kat Mokrynski - Oct 15, 2021

Back in September, I saw an announcement on social media that AJ Holmes (apologies, Broadway's AJ Holmes) would be performing a solo show at the SoHo Playhouse. As an admirer of AJ's work who had some time to kill after class one night, I decided to pay the show a visit. After all, the show's blurb claimed that I was going to be hearing about 'the worst, most embarrassing, humiliating, potentially irredeemable parts' of someone I had been a fan of for many years - Who wouldn't want to see something like that? But as I took the subway down to the theater, I couldn't help but wonder what AJ was going to talk about. What had he done? Would I still admire him after the show had ended? Who exactly was AJ Holmes?

Student Blog: An Interview With Wild Indian's Composer Gavin Brivik
by Student Blogger: Aingea Venuto - Oct 4, 2021

I felt like [composing] just felt way more fulfilling than it did performing everyday. I always felt performing had so much pressure, a lot of anxiety centered around interpretation, just the overall performing in front of audiences, while composing is a lot more personal and solitary, which just worked for my personality.

As we understand it, there are two main kinds of senioritis: nostalgia and anxiety. Let us take a moment to examine each strain in an attempt to self-diagnose.

Guest Blog: Rob Drummond on Providing Covid-Era Community with 'Open Mic'
by Matt Wolf - Mar 31, 2021

When ETT approached me about making a theatre show which would most likely have to be shown digitally my first thought was … how can we call that theatre? From the beginning I was anxious, as with all my work, to keep the audience vital, active and (if they liked) participatory. Out of that came 'Open Mic'.
