Grammy and Brit Award winning musician Midge Ure returns to North America on a co-headline tour with old friend, and fellow Brit, Paul Young. The first leg of the 'Soundtrack of your Life' Tour starts this week and will run through the end of the month in Cincinnati, OH with more to be announced, including a west coast run in August.

NAMM's Museum of Making Music To Celebrate Make Music Day June 21

As part of the global Make Music Day happening Thursday, June 21, NAMM's Museum of Making Music will offer a full day of music-making opportunities while hosting the Earth Harp, the world's longest playable stringed instrument, that will reach from the balcony of the Museum to its parking lot. The harp will be played live by an ensemble of musicians led by William Close, the LA-based inventor who tours the globe with his instrument, which has been seen in Singapore, at Burning Man, and even strung across a canyon near Chicago.

The revived, renascent, and reformed Toronto theatre-based band, THE POLKA DOGS, have returned after a 25-year hiatus, with a new album THE BEE officially released on June 1, and an Ontario tour. Starting as a theatre pit band in 1989, the band wowed the world in the 90s with an explosive, raucous, joyous sound of trombone, tuba, banjo, drums and that sultry, fantastic voice of theatre staple John Millard. The band returns with the same original sound, and features all five of its founding members including, Tom Walsh on trombone, Tiina Kiik on accordion, Colin Couch on tuba,John Millard on banjo and vocals, and Ambrose Pottie on drums.

On February 9th, 2018, Naxos will release world premiere recordings of three concertos for wind instruments, each featuring Nashville Symphony principal players. The new album highlights the work of three very distinct composers: Arts & Letters Award recipient Frank Ticheli's Clarinet Concerto, featuring James Zimmermann; Los Angeles-based film composer and orchestrator Brad Warnaar's Horn Concerto, featuring Leslie Norton; and Iranian-born Behzad Ranjbaran's Flute Concerto, featuring Erik Gratton.
