The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS) today announces the details of its 2020-21 season. Titled Bridging the Ages, Co-Artistic Directors David Finckel and Wu Han look to the work of Franz Schubert a?" whose music is the subject of CMS's Winter Festival a?" as the inspiration for the season. Schubert was the bridge from the Classical to Romantic age, connecting musical ideas between eras. Taken as a whole, the season will show how compositions from the earliest years of the chamber music repertory link to compositions in the middle and later years of the genre, leading to a dynamic musical presentation that encourages audiences to imagine the compositional voices of the future. The new season will also expand CMS's commitment to free digital access to chamber music through a new partnership with Tencent for the Chinese-language audience.

Season. Sossi previously directed the West Coast premiere exactly 50 years ago, in the spring of 1970, as the second production ever at the then brand-new Odyssey Theatre. The Serpent opens on March 7 at the Odyssey's current home in West L.A., where performances will continue through May 3.

Mozart's musically brilliant and masterful tale of lust and revenge, Don Giovanni, returns to Lyric Opera of Chicago on Thursday, November 14 at 7pm. The Rose Art Museum has selected Caroline Woolard (American, b. 1984) as this year's 2019-2020 Ruth Ann and Nathan Perlmutter Artist-in-Residence. The Perlmutter Award recognizes extraordinary young talent and is part of the Rose's longstanding tradition of promoting the work of emerging artists. The year-long residency at the museum is also an opportunity to provide Brandeis University students and faculty with direct access to powerful contemporary art and ideas. In addition, Woolard is the Rose Art Museum's inaugural INDEX artist. In her work at the Rose, Woolard takes the meeting as a site for artistic and social intervention by combining the formal language of her sculptural practice with tools and techniques used for group facilitation.

In conjunction with the Peggy Lee Estate, Capitol/UMe will release Is That All There Is? 50th anniversary digital-only edition on November 15. The remastered edition features three previously unreleased tracks: a remixed version and alternate take of the title track, and an alternate version of “Me and My Shadow.”  A full track list is below.
