Prophets is a dark psychological thriller set on the remote British Overseas Territory of Saint John, exploring the interplay between faith and cult, justice, and the search for hope. When Kerris, a researcher, arrives on the island, she finds a colonial outpost gripped by a charismatic and growing religious sect, and as memory and nightmares mix, she begins to unravel. Written by Fringe First winning playwright Jack MacGregor, directed by John Byrne Award recipient Fraser Scott, and produced by NTS Producing Fellow Leah Byrne, the play features Rebecca Wilkie as Kerris and Xander Cowan as Joe. Prophets has received the 2026 ART Award from Assembly Festival in support of new Scottish writing and creativity at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
