Written and performed by Emily Glaze and directed by Sarah Stacey, BASIC BALD B*TCH uses comedy and drag to explore identity, desire, sexuality and the lengths people go to hide who they really are. Based on Glaze's own experiences of losing her hair to alopecia at 21 and surviving sexual assault, the show follows Amy as her life is upended twice — first by trauma, then by hair loss. What follows is a rollercoaster of hats, wigs and lip syncing to Britney Spears as Amy reclaims the words used against her and takes ownership of who she really is. The show was part of the Housemates Theatre Festival at Brixton House in 2024 and was longlisted for the Victoria Wood Prize for Comedy.
