Fresh from a critically acclaimed off-West End run, Egg Smash Productions are bringing their hit show No Hard Felix to Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August.

No Hard Felix sees toxic masculinity finally meet its match: erectile dysfunction, when finance bro Felix can't get it up, he is forced to confront the only thing scarier than failure: his feelings.

No Hard Felix is a one-man clown comedy about masculinity and the terrifying power of softness. Chaotic, hilarious and surprisingly heartfelt, the show dives into the heart and mind of a toxic bro with a heroic lack of self-awareness. As Felix scrambles to 'fix' himself through increasingly desperate methods, the cracks to his alpha facade only widen, revealing the fear and weakness that power men like him.

Speaking about the show, performer and writer Mark Ryder states that 'at first glance, this is a silly, outrageous comedy - but that's the Trojan horse. The laughter disarms, opening the way to the show's real questions: connection, healing, and the real cost of staying hard.'

Mark Ryder, writer and performer of the show, is making his fringe debut. Hailing from Northern-Ireland, Ryder has had an extensive career on screen playing everything from cadaver no.3 in an obscure Canadian crime Drama, to the lead in a Netflix show. Credits include Netflix's Borgia, Robin Hood, Showtime's City on a Hill, Five Minutes of Heaven, and Law & Order. The show is directed by Rute Costa, who is a Portugese-born director graduating from Central. Costa is co-founder of Popsie Theatre, a collective of queer and International Artists making politically-minded, darkly-comedic physical theatre. Directing credits include: GEORGE (Omnibus Theatre, Theatre Royal Bath), The Virgins (Soho Theatre), Mitzi Fitz: Babycakes (The Glitch & Vault & The Glory) and Exile (Corpus Playroom & Edinburgh Fringe Festival).

No Hard Felix is performing at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 6-17th August at 13.20 (60 mins), Just Out Of The Box at Just The Tonic at The Caves (venue number 88). Tickets are available to purchase online from edinburgh.justthetonic.com or the venue box office, and edfringe.com or the Fringe Society at 180 High Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1QS.
