Artist Series Concerts Heads South And South Of The Border With MARIACHI Y MAS

Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota opens its 2020 Venice series with Mariachi y Más!, Tuesday, February 4, at the Plantation Golf & Country Club, 500 Rockley Blvd., Venice. Tenor Guillermo López Gutiérrez, pianist Joseph Holt and Mariachi Tampa perform a selection of swaying Latin American tunes that includes Júrame, Granada, Bésame mucho, La Fiesta del Mariachi and much more. The concert begins at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Latin-inspired luncheon at 12:15 p.m. Tickets are $49 and are available until January 30, either online at www.ArtistSeriesConcerts.org or by calling 941-306-1202, Monday a?" Florida Studio Theatre (FST)'s Winter Improv Season kicks off with FST Improv Presents: When X Meets Y, an improvised musical inspired by a location suggested by the audience and three random notes on the keyboard. In this show, FST Improv cast members weave a story of romance, heartache, and fate told through music and comedy. When X Meets Y has been performing to sold out audiences for the past four years. This improvised musical romance is now playing and runs every Saturday and Friday, January 31 at 8:30PM in FST's Bowne's Lab Theatre through February 15.

Florida Studio Theatre (FST) has announced the return of its hit Cabaret celebrating male harmony groups, Unchained Melodies. One of FST's most successful and beloved Cabarets, Unchained Melodies was seen by over 20,000 people last season. Due to popular demand, the show was brought back last year for its first return engagement in March 2019. This year, due to continued audience demand, the popular Cabaret will return to Sarasota in its second limited return engagement in March 2020.

He said, a?oeYou really can't judge a musical by the age of the performers because a great show is a great show.a?? Having seen their productions in the past I knew achieving this feat with this show would be a challenge and I was pleasantly surprised that they not only met but exceeded this challenge to produce a very impressive rendition of this beloved story.
