PRONOUN, YOU WILL GET SICK and More Set for FSU/Asolo Conservatory 2026/2027 Season

The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training has revealed its 2026/2027 Season! Making its Florida premiere in November 2026, Pronoun by Evan Placey is a love story about transition, testosterone, and James Dean. Josh and Isabella are childhood sweethearts. They were meant to spend their gap year together; they were meant to be together forever. But Isabella has now become Dean. Commissioned in 2014 as part of The National Theatre Connections festival, Pronoun is making its way from the UK to the Cook Stage!

Also in November 2026, You Will Get Sick by Noah Diaz follows a man who hires a stranger to help him say something he cannot bring himself to say—that he is sick. A recipient of the Kennedy Center's Jean Kennedy Smith Play Writing Award, You Will Get Sick is a new play in second-person that takes audiences on a surreal and emotional journey that explores illness, vulnerability, and the ways people care for one another.

Both Pronoun and You Will Get Sick will perform in rotating repertory in the Jane B. Cook Theatre.

In December 2026, the New Works Play Lab will return in its second year! The New Works Play Lab aims to give our graduate student-actors experience with developing a new play, starting with the workshop process and ending in a staged-reading. The New Works Play Lab gives playwrights a laboratory to experiment with their work in a supportive, educational setting, while also teaching developing actors how to serve the text. We will announce the play submission process this summer!

In February 2027, the Elizabethan Set returns to the Cook Theatre for Caesar by William Shakespeare. When beloved leader Caesar returns to Rome, fears of tyranny lead Brutus and Cassius to plot his assassination, sparking chaos, violent uprising, and emotional rhetoric that leaves audiences questioning, "Is Brutus the hero or the villain." Caesar is a gripping political thriller about power, betrayal, and the cost of liberty.

The season will conclude in April 2027 with an adaptation of a neo-classical comedy that is sure to please. We will to announce this title in Summer of 2026!
