It’s music. It’s laughter. It’s a great photograph. And it’s a year since their father died. The Prozorov family and friends celebrate the 18th birthday of the beautiful young Irina. But the sisters are not happy. Olga wants to change her job as a local schoolmistress. Masha wants to change her husband, Kulygin. Irina wants to change the future and return to Moscow. And their brother, Andrew? He wants to change his life and marry Natasha. With the arrival of the new commander of the regiment, Vershinin, anything can happen and it’s worth staying for lunch.
