The Crucible is one of the most gripping works of American opera. Based on Arthur Millers play centered on the Salem witch trials, Robert Wards eerily topical opera is sure to make your pulse race. Bass-baritone Wayne Tigges and mezzo-soprano Audrey Babcock both standout singing actors debut as John and Elizabeth Proctor; soprano Anya Matanovic portrays the malicious Abigail Williams. Kostis Protopapas leads the large cast and orchestra. Rising star Stephanie Havey directs.
