Mary Jane the Musical 2: The Grandson at Rooney Amphitheatre

Mary Jane the Musical 2: The Grandson is a new original outdoor musical written and co-directed by Michael Fields, with co-direction by Roman Sanchez, presented as part of the annual Baduwa't Festival in Blue Lake, California. Set in Southern Humboldt, the story follows Billy Jane, grandson of the legendary Mary Jane, who has inherited land where cannabis was first grown during the Back-to-the-Land movement of the late 1960s and must now say goodbye to the property amid today's struggling cannabis economy. The production features twelve original songs by local Humboldt-area songwriters and an ensemble cast including William English III, Shawn Wagner, Laura Murillo Hart, Lily Linz, Peggy Metzger, Evan Grande, Zera Starchild, Ben Clifton, Alyssa Hughlett, Esme Gough, and Tony Award-nominated Cynthia Martells as Marie Devereaux. The live band includes Tim Randles, Marla Joy, Jeff Kelley, and Mike Labolle.
