Spreckels Theatre Company presents a staged concert of "Kismet." A fanciful and romantic Arabian Night tale, "Kismet" follows the escapades of Hajj, a beggar poet availing his charm and wit as he dangerously elevates to a position of power and influence in ancient Baghdad, threatening his daughter's chances of true love. Rarely performed, this 1953 Tony award-winning Broadway musical delights with its exotic setting and lush score adapted from the soaring musical themes by composer Alexander Borodin.
