The Rat Pack is Back, Marine's Memorial Dec.19 - Jan.7

By:

The long-swingin' hit, The Tribute to Frank, Sammy, Joey & Dean, returns this holiday season with a holiday highball, Dean's red nose, and a new title: The Rat Pack is Back.  Bringing a sleigh full of holiday hi-jinx in their wake, the Rat Pack will restore yuletide cheer with a songfest of classic holiday tunes performed with a sprinkling of mischievous twists and backed by a rollicking big band.  Performing at the Marine's Memorial Theatre in San Francisco December 19, 2006 to January 7, 2007.

"The Rat Pack is Back re-imagines a legendary night circa 1960, when four show business icons converged at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas to regale audiences with a freewheeling, no-holds-barred show," describes press notes, "In this uncanny recreation, the voice of God (actually a recording of the late Buddy Hackett) urges Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Joey Bishop, and Dean Martin to go back and do it 'just one more time.' What ensues is an unforgettable night of the legendary headliners in performance, including holiday classics such as 'Let it Snow,' 'We Wish You The Merriest,' and 'The Christmas Waltz,' backed by a swingin' live orchestra."

Bringing the legends to life is a cast of remarkable performers whose uncanny impersonations take audience to simpler era.  The cast for this San Francisco engagement is scheduled to include Jonathan Poretz as Frank Sinatra, Kyle Diamond as Sammy Davis Jr., Jeff Appelbaum as Joey Bishop, and Robbie Howard as Dean Martin.

Tickets ($40-$70) for The Rat Pack, created and produced by Dick Feeney and Sandy Hackett, can be purchased by calling 415-771-6900, by visiting any Ticketmaster outlet, or by visiting www.ticketmaster.com.  Tickets to a special New Year's Eve Performance, (December 31 at 8PM) including champagne and party favors are available at $100.  Group discounts (+15) are available by calling (415)346-7805. VIP seats are available. Patrons should inquire with the Box Office.

Performances begin December 19, with an opening December 21, and running through January 7, 2007.  Show times are Tuesdays – Fridays at 8PM, Saturdays at 3 & 8PM, and Sundays at 3 & 7PM.  Plus added 3PM matinees December 22, 27, 29, & January 3.

The Rat Pack is Back performs at the Marines Memorial Theatre, located at 609 Sutter Street (at Mason, 2 blocks from Union Square), San Francisco.
