Video: R.O.I. (RETURN ON INVESTMENT) Trailer Shared by San Francisco Playhouse
The Silicon Valley set drama continues its run through early September.
San Francisco Playhouse has posted a trailer for R.O.I. (RETURN ON INVESTMENT), giving audiences a preview of the world premiere production now running at the company's home venue through September 5, 2026.
Written by Playhouse resident playwright Aaron Loeb, the play follows Silicon Valley venture capitalist May, who is fresh off a Forbes 40 Under 40 inclusion and searching for a unicorn startup with a $1 billion valuation. Her path crosses with visionary scientist Dr. Willa McGovern, setting off a darkly comedic drama that examines what can happen when brilliant ideas collide with enormous amounts of money, influence, and the desire to change the world.
The production marks the start of San Francisco Playhouse's 2026-27 season and was commissioned by the company as a rolling world premiere.
The trailer arrives after the Playhouse released early production photos from the world premiere and following a review that described the play as diving into the worlds of venture capital, science, and ambition with a story that feels increasingly plausible given today's fast-moving technological landscape.
