BATS Summer Improv Festival to Kick Off Next Month

By:
BATS Improv, the largest and longest-running Improv Theatre and school in Northern California will kick summertime into high gear with their annual Summer Improv Festival.

Every weekend (Friday and Saturday nights) in August (August 7-29 at 8 p.m. at Bayfront Theater - B350 Fort Mason Center, San Francisco, 94123), the BATS Main Stage Company Players take the stage with a different show displaying their hilarious, award-winning brand of improvised theatre with completely improvised musicals, stage plays and more.

Each night will have a special Q&A with the cast after each show.

BATS Annual Summer Improv Festival Schedule:

Friday, August 7 - SF vs. LA Theatresports

BATS takes on their rivals from LA in the Annual SF vs. LA Theatresports Grudge Match.

Saturday, August 8 - SF + LA Spontaneous Broadway

BATS joins forces with their friends from LA for a one-night-only improvised musical extravaganza.

Friday & Saturday, August 14-15 - Improvised Tennessee Williams

Dark passionate stories with a humorous twist. Anguish and desire sit just below the surface of polite society in this completely improvised stage play inspired by the works of Tennessee Williams.

Friday & Saturday, August 21-22 - Theatre on the Edge

Fearless and unflinching improvised theatre that defies convention, format, and even linear story-telling; rooted in the human experience and inspired by Bertold Brecht's ideas of Epic Theatre.

Friday and Saturday, August 28-29 - 1930's Romantic Comedy

Love is funny! Especially in this classic 1930's romance, where swank meets slapstick and anything can happen.

Tickets are $17 general admission, $20 at the door for most shows. Special six-pack of tickets for $90 (a $30 savings off the door price). Tickets are available through the BATS website www.improv.org or by phone (415) 474-6776. For more information, visit www.improv.org/special/summer-festival.
