Join us for an evening of dance as Jean Isaacs starts off the New Year by re-setting her iconic A Geography of Risk (2002) at San Diego City College’s Saville Theater. Inspired by travel guidebooks and hailed by The Village Voice as “a little masterpiece,” this piece is full of humor and passion and features text by Garrison Keillor. Also featured will be the world premiere of the full length Requiem for an Ocean, with original music by SDDT composer Steve Baker – inspired by John Luther Adams’ Become Ocean and Claude Debussy’s La Mer. On display will be set design and artwork by local sculptor and “Living Treasure” Arline Fisch, and the original text will be performed by Meagan Marshall. Rounding out the evening’s performances will be a new work created by Katie Stevenson-Nollet especially for company dancer Blythe Barton that embraces memory and the wonder of marriage and love.
