Underwater archaeologist and National Geographic Explorer Lisa Briggs takes audiences to the Mediterranean Sea to explore how pirating shaped the Roman Empire, introduces the Pirate Queen of China, and follows the story of the infamous Blackbeard. Briggs is a scuba instructor and technical diver whose research examines ancient shipwrecks of the Mediterranean Sea and the stories of the cargoes and sailors of the past. Her work also aims to inspire young students to pursue STEM subjects through the intersection of science and adventure.
