The last of the three Tchaikovsky ballets, a very special destiny. Unlike the "Swan Lake" and "sleeping beauties" of "the Nutcracker" in the 19th century did not regain perfect choreographic embodiment. 1892 first performance, by l. Ivanov, m. Petipa ill instead, despite some interesting scenes and fragments, was declared unsuccessful. Not having received the status of imperishable classics, performance in 20 years has gone from the scene. But it is precisely this fact – the lack of classical ballet's version made the brilliant score of Tchaikovsky as a kind of "open book". For over a hundred years it is trying to read the outstanding Russian choreographers, among them a. Gorski, f. Lopukhov, v.vainonen, y. Grigorovich, Belsky, v. Elizaryeu, as well as ballet masters abroad: g. Balanchine, j. Kranko, j. Neumeier, r. Petit.

Probably the main Riddle of "the Nutcracker" is the paradoxical discrepancy of story and music. This contradiction was laid during the birth sheet music: Tchaikovsky wrote the Ballet in accordance with scenic plan of m. Petipa, who turned the mystical prose Hoffman in a children's Matinee serene (though the Ballet choreographed by circumstances he became). The first act of repeating the contours of a Christmas story about a doll animated Nutcracker. In the second act as such was not, the main characters turned into Extras, and gingerbread and confectionary splendor in the spirit of the divertissement favorite extravaganzas were the Imperial Court Ballet. In music, however, opened the abyss of the tragic conflicts of the real and fictional. The score by Tchaikovsky between Peak Lady "and the Sixth Symphony, captured all the same Roy terrible ghosts to human happiness. In "the Nutcracker," they break into the world of a cozy hearth and children's dreams. Victory over them is difficult. And in the final apofeoze dramatic sound notes of maturity and wisdom.

The appeal of a daunting task – to compose a play-fairy tale and, simultaneously, philosophical poem, is interesting for both adults and children, still attracts many of the producers of "the Nutcracker." Moreover, this ballet is one of the most loved around the world. Every year in the December days of the pre-Christmas give in many theaters of Europe and America. Thousands of new fans to music of Tchaikovsky are immersed in the magical atmosphere of dream and fantasy adventures.

In the Ekaterinburg Opera and ballet "Nutcracker" had previously been raised twice. In 1957, the staging has staged, Âzvinskij. In 1980, Leningrad choreographer Igor Belski postponed to our stage their performance, delivered in small Leningrad theater of Opera and Ballet in 1969, and was one of the most interesting among domestic interpretations of the music of Tchaikovsky.

In the new version of the Ballet «Nutcracker» Ballet suggested by Vyacheslav Gordeev, saved the most popular Pas de Deux of the second Act, Vasily Vainonen. The play was first staged in the Moscow theatre "Russian ballet".
