Joy Machine Records will release the original cast recording of My 80-Year-Old Boyfriend on October 17, featuring Charissa Bertels and Brett Ryback. Written by Christian Duhamel and Ed Bell, the album celebrates the Kleban Award-winning musical.

At one point in our youth, we all had to write one of those “Most Memorable Person I Have Ever Met” essays.  It always described that one person who changed your life.  Now, imagine taking that story and turning it into a musical.  Well, that is exactly what Charissa Bertels did – with the help of some friends – when she created My 80-Year-Old Boyfriend- playing June 16 – July 3, 2022 in the Loft Theatre.  

The 35th year just keeps on giving.  The Human Race has announced two additional shows that will complete our current season of Dayton premieres.

Tony-winning director-choreographer Casey Nicholaw is featured in this monthly episode of 'THEATER: All the Moving Parts', hosted by veteran journalist, Patrick Pacheco. Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) is pleased to share the news that The Kleban Foundation's 28th Annual Kleban Prize for Musical Theatre for the most promising musical theatre librettist has been awarded to Christian Duhamel for his work on My 80-Year-Old Boyfriend, a musical that received its world premiere at MRT in Lowell in April 2017.
