Make this make sense: take a handful of successful Swedish pop songs from the 1970s, hand them to a British creative team to build a stage musical set on a Greek island, give it a commonly used Italian exclamation (“Mamma Mia!”), and watch it become an American phenomenon.
MAMMA MIA! will juke onto the Lohrey Theatre stage at Theatre Memphis from February 27 through March 29, 2026. The production brings the ABBA jukebox musical to Memphis audiences with a new staging led by director Cecelia Wingate.
Theatre Memphis has announced its 2025-26 season with a season decidedly dedicated to variety. All take a bow in the coming season to present quality entertainment to our patrons.
