The Philadelphia Orchestra, under the direction of Yannick Nézet-Séguin, will perform two concerts at Memorial Hall, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on November 4 and 5, 2025, as part of a tour marking the Orchestra's 125th anniversary and the America 250 celebration. Emanuel Ax will join the Orchestra for Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 alongside William Grant Still's Wood Notes and Brahms's Symphony No. 3 on November 4. The following evening features Brahms's Fourth Symphony and Jennifer Higdon's Concerto for Orchestra, commissioned by The Philadelphia Orchestra and known for its vibrant orchestral colors. This event reflects the Orchestra's rich history and commitment to celebrating American music.
